Hello from Alabama, USA. I was watching Natasia from Treasure Books, and she was unboxing a Journal she purchased from you. Inside were a few sheets of waxed paper. I had never seen this before, so I had to come look for myself and low and behold just 5 days ago you demonstrated your process. I have already made my towel covered cardboard, ready to pick out papers. Thank you so much for sharing. I have subscribed and am looking forward to watching more of your videos.

The napkin makes great washi tape. Use a single layer napkin, wax it, then get some double sided tape layer it down in strips first before cutting the napkin in to washi tape. I watched a woman make her own by laying strips of masking tape what ever width you like laid side by side on a sheet of baking paper, and then she painted and stenciled and stamped the strips. It looked beautiful and original. She said you keep the tapes on the baking paper that way the stickiness lasts on the masking tape if kept that way, and use as required.

If you want to streamline this process, skip grating the wax. Just iron the paper until it's warm enough and then rub the wax over the sheet. Saves a lot of effort and you use only the amount of wax you need.

So grateful that someone in the comments recommended using the old wax from their wax melts, I usually throw it away, once the smell is kinda gone, & I put a new one in, but now I’ll just use it for this, & save so much $$, such a great idea! 36:10 that translucent envelope looks awesome. The whole video is actually awesome, so much potential. So far for making papers translucent I only tired baby oil. Thanks for such comprehensive and hands-on lesson. I am a bit sick at the moment with a cold but still totally energized by this video and will walk to the nearest store selling candles to pick some and try on my paper. I trust your comment that the iron is not too difficult to clean after such experiments (and if not - well, my crafts are much more important than my cloth, lets face it).

I had to laugh when you said you don't use your iron for clothes. Lol I don't either! Lol Reminds me of when I was buying some large cake pans at the thrift store. Another shopper said "You must do a lot of baking! " I told her I don't bake any more....I use them in my garden for holding potted plants to water them. Lol It amazes me how these papers turned out translucent. So pretty! The butterfly looks great...like a vellum one. And the pink crumpled paper turned out gorgeous. We switched to flameless candles, but thankfully I kept some wax ones...now I'm really glad I did as I'll be trying this too! Thank you for showing us a great way to transform paper. I tried this and couldn’t stop. I was going to walk little dog and she gave up me and went to sleep!! I learned what I could do with one sided scrapbook paper. Thank you for sharing this video!

Deborah, you’re most welcome! It is addictive isn’t it. I usually stop when my legs get sore from standing too long 😆. Like you said, it’s great for one sided papers, really quick fix. I feel bad for the little dog, at least he or she got a good nap😍

It’s been 2 years since I’ve recorded this video and I still have some of these papers. I haven’t noticed any pieces falling off. Some cracks might appear when you fold these papers. 😊
