Love the music. Love the message. Does anyone know why they repeat the same few lines for ~20 minutes? I feel like a scripture reading or short sermon could be useful also. I think emotion is important (critical even) part of worship, but where is the substance directing that emotion and feeling? I've never seen this sort of sunday morning service. As someone from a more traditional church background, I am curious to get the perspective of those who attend a worship service like this.

Hi Ben! Glad ur enjoying music! Understand ur confusion. Especially if ur new to spontaneous worship where a few lines r repeated for say 20 min 😊. These sessions r not scripted or preplanned. Worship is directed so to speak by the Holy Spirit. He takes over as the Worship leader and determines how long we may ‘sit’ on a particular portion of music. During these sessions HE ministers to our deepest inner needs. It’s not just emotion - even though God is an emotional God - it’s more like us dropping our defenses/walls and ‘worshipping Him in spirit and truth’ scripture ref. John 4:24 (NKJV) ‘ God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.’ Hope this helps. 🙂 PS. I am not affiliated with UpperRoom nor am I speaking on their behalf.
