A lot of people seemed to be confused about that effectiveness time-bar so thank you for hopefully bringing clarity! :) If you don't mind I have a few bits of feedback but also realize you were doing a tutorial at the same time so maybe you already know this and were just distracted: -your scope was zeroed for 100m when you shot the doe and she was definitely well within it so your shot will have hit high, plus it seemed you were already aiming high -pursuing a shot animal right after its been hit is called "Pushing" it. Naturally they will bed down if not pursued, then they will die much closer to the place you shot it. Keep pursuing and it will keep running and an animal that would have died in 40 can run for kilometers!! This is true in real life as it is in the game. Happy hunting friend :)

Tldr: calls only work out to about 150 yards. Call in 10 animals boom level two, 30 animals, level three.

Nicely done. My IRL experience, sometimes, is you can get a spooked dears attention, for a shot, with a lot of different calls; they will stop and look back as if to say, "hey, what was that _really_ ". rabbit distress call was always handy. Since we're simulating being on a preserve (all to ourselves, with no pressure) it should work. Deer, esp. are very curious and for females and young mule deer (most of my experience) they will come up to within a few feet of you - if they can't smell you. Fun thing to do: when they get that close just shout "BOO!", and watch their expression. And yes, if you're NOT MOVING (and again they can't smell you) you're just a 'stump' that wasn't there yesterday. So, it's nice to see they put some detail into this. At "Ranger" level, be even more 'fun' if, when you move ANYTHING (raised your weapon, turned/rotated, switched gear, etc) it was added to the 'spooked algo' - as in the real world you have to wait til they aren't looking right at you (or your movement is hidden) to bring up the rife. It's not nearly the same as moving (translating position) but they will pick up on that too, at least increase the 'alert' level some amount.

Needed this thanks. First calling I did. Couldn't see a female mule dear coming in binoculars, then lowered binoculars, turn slightly and i got fright to have this dear so close. 😄 Called some hares and had two csme out of long grass at my feet and to close to shoot. Ha

IRL, you would never chase a wounded animal they won’t run as far. Unless you see where the animal drops, it’s usual practice to wait before tracking it.

Should also note that using caller on ps5 automatically puts you in slow silent mode. Press r3 to walk normally again. Took me a long time to figure that out

I wish they would change the font in the shop. The first time I went to buy a caller, I didn't have much money so I wanted to buy a cheaper caller. I picked one that was "150", but then realized after buying it that it was "750", a more expensive one. The "7" looks too much like a "1". Same when looking at your money. Another thing I'd like to see is the tracking info delaying some on the screen after checking. It displays only while you're looking at the ground. I like to keep moving and don't want to stand there staring at the ground when checking this.

My deer caller attracts female deer really well but for some reason, level 2 “low fitness males” doesn’t attract any deer at all

I'm 4yrs into cotw a much better game. But woth is getting better now I got the 7mm and 18x scooe. I can finally hit those shots. At 700! F Meters yo. I blew an elks Knee cap off then smashed him again in the lung at 500m then his heart at 150m and he still stayed alive. He pretended he was done I got close he jumped up and ran off again. So I put one in his skull and he dropped for good then. Once I got experience with 700m shot I will get a drop shot mayb when I got that .350 rifle. I brought all callers. Crossbow. 16ga. 7mm. The 14x and 18x I'm smashing animals but It's not fun like COTW. COTW you get a diamond or you don't. This guaranteed big animal if you wait system is just annoying tbh. Will get old fast I think. I want monsters to just spawn rarly and I get them or I miss them.

What i like the most in this game is the herd management. Its so fun to get the fitness up in the herds. I got now a herd of bisons and it possible all males are 4-5 star trophies.
