This game took me a minute to really get into. I played the original 'The Hunter' ever since it came out so I was really used to that. I hunt IRL and have actually slowly come to enjoy this game more. The more you understand the need zones (just like IRL) and the times to be there and the primary habitats (like IRL) the more fun it gets and I like that it still has a few surprises here and there. It feels a little more rewarding with the genetics system as well, when to cull and when to shoot the trophy, it adds a little variety to the game play. Feels more like I'm actually impacting the environment around me not just shooting random AI animals that spawned in.

Just got WOTH yesterday. Coming from COTW, it is definitely an adjustment, but Im slowly getting the hang of it. I think once I get some more fast travel points unlocked and get some better guns, itll be alot better. Ive already got a 4* badger and pheasant to keep an eye on, tho. I can already tell that Im not gonna be able to keep up with where everything is.

its honestly a real shame the render distance in call of the wild is so low a 400 yard shot on levelish terrain isnt possible, or even spotting animals on the other side of the river from a hill on the opposite side, thats what i really want to be able to do

The game is basically a decade old ☠️☠️☠️

Yes and no. Rendering a 400m radius around the player vs a 1000m radius is much easier. You'd need approximately 6x the computing power to maintain all of the information on *everything* around the hunter. That makes it really really hard to play for lower power units, and removes a huge part of the consumer base that games casually. It sounds cool, but are you willing to spend the money for a machine with 6x the computing and data handling power to get it?

@@randomidiot8142Giving players the choice in the settings depending on the capability of their machine fixes it. No one wants to alienate players that don’t have crazy computers, but having the option for those that do seems so obvious
@randomidiot814211 ай бұрын
@@lharmy it does sound like an easy fix, but if you're that into it that you can handle it.. You know it's not an issue that you don't have a Minecraft render distance slider bar in the settings. You can change all kinds of things with mods.
@lharmy11 ай бұрын
@@randomidiot8142 no one called it an issue. It’s a QOL improvement to drag the game up to standard for modern gaming. I shouldn’t need 3rd party mods for something like that.

You gotta remember Flint, the CL 2s (9.3x62mm) caliber is gonna have a lower ballistic coefficient due to being less aerodynamic. Causing it to lose more velocity, and thus lose more energy at longer distances. The 6.5 without a doupt would do better at distance.

I got 4* Elk a couple days ago with an 800 meter (874 yards) shot, looked like it could have been a 5* at that distance but unfortunately not. Was still a very satisfying kill.

That headshot at the end was INSANE.
@Justfishin01029 ай бұрын
9.3x62 is an old round. I wouldn’t use it for that distance. It loses energy really fast. The 6.5 honestly probably has close to the same energy at those distances. That’s why nothing dropped

have to say this.. those 6.5 creedmoor ballistics has nothing to do with real life ! there has to be someone OG Creedmoor fanboy in the game development team to have those kind of numbers in the game. true energy at 1000 yards with 6.5 CRM is between 600-1050 joules and actually is much less than is needed in efficient kill.
