We started the regular season against the Eagles, and then the postseason we upset the Eagles in Philly. We had to take the road route all the way through the playoffs. The winner of the NFC North will get the one seed and the bye and we may well again be the last team in the playoffs starting in Philly. I'd love to go through Philly, and a rival or two (beating the Bears in the NFC Championship that year was at least as satisfying as winning the Super Bowl that year) on the way to the big game. As a Packer fan we just lost to the better team, however Paul you were correct when you stated that the Vikings have that 5 minute lapse that almost cost them a game which should not have been this close. I definitely think the Vikings can beat a limping Detroit. The Packers were definitely out coached and out game planned as La Fluer couldn't respond to the Viking's defensive matchup on the one on ones. You also were correct when you said the Packers without Christian Watson could be a big loss. Watson opens up both the vertical game and underneath passing lanes for Love, much the same as Jefferson ( who was held in check) opened up the passing lanes for the other successful Vikings receivers. The offensive line for the Vikings should get the game ball on pass protection as Darnold was clean throughout the game. I hope we meet again when Alexander, Walker and Watson are on the field.

I want to point out something I feel is being looked at backwards. If you take a look at the packers allowed points per game this season vs the score, and the points scored per season vs this game. There was a much larger disparity between the defenses performance and their average than the offense and theirs. Furthermore, I disagree that love had a bad game. Key stat for that argument would be 0 turnovers. Our starting running back fumbled the opening scoring drive. At halftime, I recalled the comeback from earlier in the year and thought, this lead isn't a problem at all. Stupid penalties (players fault not refs), drops, and poor ball security cost the packers the win in my opinion.
@OmarMuhyar3 күн бұрын
As a Packers fan, I definitely slept on how damn good the Vikings are so kudos to your organization for putting together such a cohesive team that can dominate on both sides of the ball. Problem with the Packers is mainly us beating ourselves with sloppy mistakes, stupid penalties, dropped passes, and mis-reads by Love - all turning around very winnable games. In the first drive, we were easily moving the ball with Jacobs, then we coughed it up and the rest was history. Same thing happened in the second game against the Lions where Watson jumped up and fumbled after a 20+ yard reception. Stop doing dumb shit and we can play in these games.

Oh yes, Jacob’s fumble was why Love could barely complete a pass and had only 64 yards passing into the 4th quarter…while Darnold passed for 340 yards in three quarters. I was one of Love’s strongest supporters at the start of the 2023 season and in the middle of the 2023 season when most Packers fans and other NFL fans thought Green Bay had made a big mistake going with Love. Love is a very good QB. However, I expected him to be significantly better at this point in 2024. I have 3 problems with Love. 1)He is passing less effectively in December 2024 than he did in December 2023. I expected improvement not regression 2)His absurd contract. It was premature and he’s currently not worth 1/3 that amount. Within 2 years it’s going to start harming the Packers because of the salary cap and we’re going to start losing some of our best players. 3)It’s simply a fact that Darnold is a much better QB THIS SEASON than Love. I find that stunning from the vantage point of a year ago. Darnold was 33 for 43 for 377 yards, with 3 TDs and laser focused passing. Love was 19 for 30 for 185 yards and 1 TD.

@jackwinter15072 күн бұрын
I kind of agree (also a packers fan). I think Love needs to take a little more initiative in the offensive control; he knows what’s going wrong offensively and should be communicating with LaFleur about everything after every single drive. I really don’t think that a coach like LaFleur wouldn’t notice what was happening consistently until after halftime. However, I would also say that we need Watson back, he is the extreme deep threat that spreads the defense further than they would like. Doubs is great, but he isn’t Watson with deep throws. I also don’t really remember seeing much action with Reed in sweeps this game. Again though, Watson in sweeps is also a threat. I think this game kinda showed that offensively we need all the versatility we can get, when we lose some of it we get kinda predictable.

Credit to the Vikings, they were excellent, as was Darnold. The only concern I think Viking fans should have is their kicker - he looked nervous and could cost you later on in the playoffs or in the Superbowl. The final scoreline looked close, but it was game over as soon as the Vikings scored on the first drive after half time. Against the best teams the Packers don't start playing until garbage time, which shows they are a pretender, not a genuine contender. Unfortunately it's season over for us as the 7th seed is ridiculously difficult in the NFC this year. I've said it before, but i was happier after last season's 9-8 than this season's 11-5. Probably because we beat quality teams including the Chiefs, Lions and then the Cowboys. This year we've only beaten bad and average teams.

A Packers fan viewpoint on losing to the Vikings on 12/29/24: The Vikings have averaged 26.4 points per game this season. The defense allowed them 27, so the missing stars on defense definitely hurt us, but that didn't cost Green Bay the game. The Packers' have averaged 27.4 points per game, so the offense under performed. However, that observation is undercut by LeFleur's decision to go for it on fourth down instead of kicking the nearly guaranteed 3 point field goal. So, he was expecting a horse race and didn't give his defense enough credit.

Packers lead the league in drops and have 2 receivers (Wicks and Reed) in the top 10 in the league in drops with far less targets than those ahead of them on the list. Doubs is 25th in drops and he's the receiver Packer's fans believe have the best hands on the team. That's going to continue to hurt this team.

Worst game from the defensive line, worst game from the offensive line, worst game from Love and we lost by 2 points to a 14 win team. Absolutely embarrassing how poorly we played but any packer fan selling out on the team is not a fan.

Congrats to the Vikings. The packers were way overrated and the Vikings are way underrated. The packers are not a Super Bowl contender as a lost in first round would be an exact replica of the cowboys last years beat bad teams lose to contenders. They need to change the seeding where winning the division only guarantees a wild card spot but not home playoff game. Lions and Vikings are the best 2 teams in nfc and look forward to next week.
@TaliaRandolph-w5b2 күн бұрын
The Packers don't have a pass rush so they can't be a SB contender. The expectations have been way too high for the Packers since they beat Dallas in the playoffs last year. They need a pass rusher, a downfield speed receiver who isn't injured prone, and a cornerback who can play in important games.

Ima Packers fan and I am going to be completely honest against the best of the best in the NFC Matt Lafleur gets out coached, and the Packers start slow. The narrative continue of the Packers losing against the best in the NFC even if it’s barely. Our defense seriously couldn’t stop check down passes all game. Something’s gotta change this shits pissing me off.

Hafley in his first year. I am pretty unhappy with how the defense has played in these specific 5 games, but the season as whole is a big improvement. I just hope he can get to the next tier, because THAT is not top tier defense
@olivierspencer96943 күн бұрын
I agree. Felt the same. No pressure on Darnold and no coverage deep against the WRs who were open several times. Surely the defence should be trying to deliver at least one of those things?

Packer fan here Vikings are better and have been all season cant comprehend Jacobs running every play down by 2 TDS plus , i see Love on the bench in last 3 losses very early in the game hes on the sidelines alone looking like he has no hope to win , still have some confidence we can win in the playoffs but realistically were middle of playofff depth

Vikings are the more complete team right now. Love still needs to grow obviously. And the Packers defense needs a serious overhaul of the entire defensive line. Unacceptable performance from the pash rushers for 90% of the season.
@ChanceClayton-sh9gj2 күн бұрын
I really like this show, and I understand that the pack didn't play like they should have to beat the vikings. But to say the free 3 points before the half didn't have anything to do with the vikings winning in a game decided by two points is kind of out of pocket. Bad calls have a huge influence on outcomes of games if it's a bad call, resulting in any kind of points. It's even bigger.
@Musicsports2 күн бұрын
People are idiots. Love didn't give up 27 points. The defense can never get the ball back for the offense and fans blame Love. Obviously non football fans, because their comments are ridiculous. Love had zero time to throw. Walker was terrible. The pressure was immediate and relentless.

If the Packers are knocked out of the playoffs, I’d like the Vikings to win, especially with AJ playing for them.
@supermariosportscars71803 күн бұрын
I just think the Packers didn’t have as much to play for and without Watson to open up the field that’s a killer for their offense. The Viks were playing for a 1 seed shot GB wasn’t and that’s a difference. Let’s see how it goes when both teams are playing for the same thing in a do or die game. Good luck to the Viks on your shot for the 1 seed.
@curthennig94482 күн бұрын
Nice excuse there. How about playing to beat one of the best teams in the NFC and avoiding the 7th seed.
@SmilingSolution2 күн бұрын
I'm a true packer fan but also a realist. It was a bad game for GB and they simply fell asleep at the wheel. This wasn't even close to our best at any level. It just felt like they didn't play this game with urgency. There were a couple of times when Donald could've been sacked or receivers could've been stopped short was the tackling were light at best.. We'll fix it.. Good game viking! GPG

Can we talk about the worst part of that game. Tom Brady is the very worst announcer ever to open his mouth. I literally muted the game at half time so I could continue to watch.

Congrats from a Packer fan. Our offense has not been consistent as they were last season. To many penalties in the game.

The Vikings Defense was great until the 4th quarter. That is an issue. The Packers ate the Vikings Defense for dinner in the 4th. Thank your offense for putting the game away, because if Green Bay got the ball back, the game is over. Don't forget the bogus call that gave Minnesota a field goal at the end of the half. The score was decided by 2. The packers got zero calls.
@batman723422 күн бұрын
Oan. I don't think coach Lafluer throws his playbook out there like that until the playoffs. Just think. It wasn't a lot of passing plays they threw out there. He kinda did the same plays throughout the whole game. Let's go playoff Packers
@El-hefe_2 күн бұрын
This is the first time this season I have turned off a Packers game before the 4th quarter. Vikings played lights out and it felt like the Packers went in there expecting to win 🤷♂️ garbage time points on the 4th to make it closer but for 3 quarters it really wasn’t even close and was the worst loss all season for the Packers.

Viking receiver core just seemed more put together this game. That said, if the Pack can get organized and play to their potential, the sky is the limit. Either way, I hope you take the 1 seed from Detroit XD
@kovert64073 күн бұрын
When Love and/or LaFleur start getting paid to catch passes, we can blame them for this loss. AT LEAST 5 blatant drops of balls that hit WRs in the hands- 3 of those drops on 3rd downs and 1 of them on 4th down. Drive killing drops. It's been a problem all season. Packers lead the league in drop percentage.
@alerian47522 күн бұрын
As a Packers fan I have to admit that the Vikings played the better game last night. The offsides call right before the half ended was bs (the Vikings RG was more offsides than anyone on the Packers). But the Vikings played better almost the entire game until the end. Good luck next week. I would rather have the Vikings with the division than the Lions. Lions fans have been awful this season. Vikings fans have been tolerable.
@cliffisaac61582 күн бұрын
The regular season is very different than the postseason. For example the Packers own the 49ers in the regular season and the 49ers own the Packers in the postseason. The Packers have lost by 22 points combined between 5 games. That is an average 4.4 points per game. I am not worried about the Packers not being able to compete in the postseason.

Packers lost this year to Philly, Minnesota, and Detroit. To get to the Super Bowl they may have to beat all three of those teams on the road. Would be epic! ... But I'm still predicting a Vikings-Bills Super Bowl where both teams find a way to lose.
