Prefered railway station should be kannur or Kozhikode . As Nilambur has very less trains and is a seperate line from shornur junction.

As you mentioned there is trek of 1.5 hr for caves. are there treks to reach waterfalls and other spots to as we have a small 1 yr old baby, wont be able to do long treks.
