The second voice is Buck the Kid Wilkins who also sang this song on his solo album, "In Search of Food, Clothing, Shelter and Sex" . It was a well arranged album with many heavy hitters from Nashville helping him. The liner notes are very revealing. It was his only solo album and very collectable with many of his original songs.

My first exposure of this great Spiritual was on an Acetate of an Album released when I was working at United Artists in the early 70's.The Artist (Bobby Vee) had enjoyed a successful career years earlier.The Label had an ongoing long term commitment to release additional Material.The Parties agreed to fulfill obligations that one final LP would be released under the following terms.He would be allowed to Record with a substantial Budget and pick the material and musicians (prob Producer).Bobby wanted to express himself in a fashion representative of his then current contemporary style. Most important, he insisted it be released under his actual name Robert Thomas Velline.Beautiful, Acoustic very well produced it included a wonderful rendition of his hit "Take Good Care of My Baby".The Label failed to promote the record hence few have heard it. The next time I noticed this Song was a few years later on a Ray Charles Lp. (really outstanding).I have tried for years to find either version.Thanks very much to the person who posted it. It sounds like Waylon's version was probably either a mistake or bad overdub.However he's great.
