I used to have the same mold problem. Just keep your bathroom open after taking a shower. I don't have mold problems anymore.
@secretalias22642 жыл бұрын
Just a tip for people who keep cleaning bathroom mold but it justs comes back - once you're done cleaning it all with your cleaner of choice, let the bathroom dry and then put on some eye protection and a mask, spray every single surface of that bathroom with vinegar, (use a water mister for ironing or similar). Just cheap white vinegar works fine. Get inside all the drawers and into all the little corners and grooves around the taps etc. This kills stray spores and also causes mold to have trouble repopulating the same surfaces in the future. At first you might have to do it every 2 or 3 months but after a while the mold just doesn't come back at all.
@greyscalesx Жыл бұрын
Yeah but the root of the problem is lack of ventilation. If you're renting, never take a space with a windowless bathroom that doesn't have a ventilation grid
@doctork1708 Жыл бұрын
Put on eye protection and a mask for all poisonous commercial products. Also if there’s mold behind that shower tile which is almost guaranteed, putting that grout on will create a disaster for the future. All the tile must be removed first and that’s on the landlord.

Vinegar would have done the job and although strong smell not as toxic
@TheRialGlamLife Жыл бұрын
@@greyscalesx I came here to say this lol and they better get those walls inspected. Mold spores can be very very bad for your lungs and you won’t really notice the damage early enough. Stay safe and detox regularly! 🙂

A large chunk of the rent income goes to paying the morgage and then they have to keep money set aside for maintenance/repairs, they definitely aren’t making a killing till the morgage is paid for. The profit also needs to be sufficient to make the extra hassle & risk worth it. It’s not easy street being a landlord. These are my observations having family members who own rentals, that’s probably their retirement plan so they have to play the long game. Unfortunately upgrades to the property are generally too expensive to make sense while the actual profit is quite low.

Sad? She lives in an affordable apartment with an average bathroom and kitchen, if she wants luxury and upgrades she would have to pay a lot more in rent. If that mold keeps coming back when you clean it, you should try to put a Damp Rid container in your bathroom. That should eliminate a lot of the build up -- that mold means you have excess moisture in your bathroom after showers. You can replace the fan in your bathroom (if your fan is running loud, it needs to be replaced) but Damp Rid will work better. Depending on how fast you dump it out will tell you how much moisture build up you have in your bathroom. Also, try Wet and Forget Shower spray - it's very effective and very little odor. I use it to treat my shower and clean my shower liner and curtain all in one. Overnight everything gets cleaned and then I just rinse it clean. I hope your tile repair has changed the game for you too!

@Em I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I can't even imagine what that must feel like. I'm so paranoid of fires. I keep thinking about getting an extinguisher installed. I also tell my sons to never leave the house with the dryer going. I'm happy the recovery was positive.

Jaw dropping transformation. It looks amazing. I love the vertical shelves and the flooring.

Love the vertical shelf in the bathroom. You can get a small steamer for cleaning grout, mold, etc. so you don’t have to inhale chemicals.

Hi Wayna, Just a little PSA here... Anytime you need to protect yourself from the fumes is a product you should never use in your home. I'll be 76 yrs old on Sept 11. I've lived in Broward County, FL since 1955. I have owned homes but have also rented apartments that were in horrific condition. Mold in apartments is disgusting. Even in bathrooms without windows I do not have any mold in my home. The only cleaning product that I use, ever, is White Vinegar.... it is inexpensive, non-toxic and the vinegar smell disappears within minutes. At age 40 I was injured at work. Suddenly, any movement made my back scream so, no more on my hands and knees scrubbing the tub or shower tiles. I had to find a new way to clean..... All of these years I have had straight Vinegar in a pistol grip sprayer and I spray the shower walls and floor/tub then I use an O'Cedar broom to scrub the walls, especially the grout between the tiles and then the tub floor. (It is the same broom I use to sweep the floors and my broom is sparkling clean because it gets cleaned while scrubbing the tub!) I also heavily spray and scrub both sides of the tub mat. I have no mold on the suction cups and no mold on any grouting. Granted, if it's really bad when you move in, put some Clorox bleach in a pistol grip sprayer and specifically spray the grout between the tiles and around the tub.... and scrub them with a stiff brush to clean off the mold.... then maintain with the straight, full strength vinegar. You definitely need to have your windows open and a fan circulating fresh air while you do this bleaching process. (It might even be worth it to just regrout the tub edge - which is not difficult - and get a white paint marker to paint betwen the wall tiles) But, if you use only vinegar... cheap, white vinegar, for all of your cleaning throughout your home, your home will be mold free and no toxic chemicals in the air. Use the vinegar to clean your toilet, all around the seat, the floor and everywhere. And don't forget to clean the wall behind the toilet..... yes, it is a pain to get to but but some men have no ability to pee in the water, and certainly not even the toilet so that area gets filthy and the smell is nauseating. Don't forget that ammonia and bleach together create a literally Toxic chemical that will KILL HUMANS AND PETS when inhaled. Urine is ammonia. Even dry urine, when it is sprayed with bleach, creates the toxic gas fumes that can kill. Homemakers mistakenly mix products with ammonia and bleach (chlorine) while cleaning then simply pass out and are found dead from the fumes. It's a real problem. Vinegar neutralizes and sanitizes and deodorizers with no toxic fumes. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant. White vinegar is the cheapest. Even put vinegar in your laundry water now and then to thoroughly rinse out all of the build up of soap residue in your clothing and you'll see the colors are brighter. PS/ Get small, colorful pistol grip sprayers and fill them with your body wash, shampoo and conditioner that you have diluted by 50%. in the spray bottles. Thoroughly wet your hair and skin then spray on your product and massage it in. You will be surprised how much lather will appear and you'll save alot of product. Your hair will be nicer without being bogged down with excess product and your skin will feel nicer and cleaner too. I've been diluting product for decades and I always smell terrific and, I feel really clean. My skin is very soft too. I also use 1/2 of the amount of laundry and dish soap. It is all very concentrated..... and we use way too much of it. I have a large pistol grip sprayer in my kitchen that is almost full of vinegar ... let's say 3/4ths full of vinegar, then 1/8th Dawn detergent, then 1/8th water. I shake that up real well, screw on the top securely, then spray it onto greasy dishes and let them sit while I wash the other dishes. When I make a basin of dishwater I add vinegar to it and less detergent. Glasses and cups get washed and rinsed first = sparkling clean. Then the plates, bowls and silverware... again, sparkling clean. Lastly are the pots and pans that were sprayed with the vinegar & detergent spray and they turn out sparkling clean. The dishes get so clean and they shine beautifully! These are just safe cleaning hacks because you and other young homemakers have been raised with toxic chemicals that are advertised as being safe but they are actually deadly. Even toothpaste says, "Do not swallow and keep out of the reach of children." Why, when we are putting it in our mouth and theirs? Here you are trying to have lovely clean homes while the manufacturers are not telling you of the dangers of their cleaning products. Wayna, I'm thoroughly enjoying your channel. Your tips are exquisite, you present them beautifully and you are a classy lady, always looking well groomed, like a model! Really stellar channel, Wayna, keep up the wonderful presentations. ..... And, thank-you for brightening your viewers' days. Renting comes with many restrictions but, we want to have a lovely space where we feel comfortable and secure and surrounded by quality..... you show us how to do that, on a budget and suddenly, that nasty apartment looks like a $m!! and we feel so good coming into our sacred space..... "Thank-you" is hardly enough for what you've given to your viewers.

Another tip is to use furniture polish on your tub walls if you have the pre-fab tub/wall installation. You will only need to clean your walls once a month. The furniture polish acts like a wax and everything just beads off.

Hi, I’m from Whidbey Island, Washington State. I was admiring everything you were doing in your bathroom until you pulled out the contact paper And I thought you were going to ruin everything you’ve already done. But when you were done it blew me away. It looked so modern and with the handles you put on, wow I loved it. This is the first video I have ever watched of yours. I loved it and I’m your new subscriber. I’ll be watching all of them A big 👍
