I love Paul and I love Dave and I love Wayne too but he got totally r/whoooooshed by the Bryant Gumbel joke which is to this day still one of the all-time best punchlines from th Chappelle show, the joke wasn't mocking Wayne at ALL, it was mocking racists

I guess we have to thank Paul Mooney for starting the whole thing. Because you would have never said that we would have never got the sketch that Wayne Brady needed. It's just tough when people try to act like you're not black enough just because you don't speak a certain way or talk walk a certain way. I think we really need to stop stereotyping each other and in life will be so great.

@Chumnley snoop exactly it is so demeaning for somebody with the same skin tone as you to tell you you're not black enough because you carry yourself a certain way. I think we all should have that stereotype that black people are intelligent. We all come in different shapes, sizes, and varieties. We all don't speak in Ebonics everyday all day. It's nothing wrong with slain but don't criticize me for using correct grammar. I totally agree.

My ex husband is my family as well. After 22 yrs of marriage our friendship is everything. He and my sister in law were there for me when I left a abusive relationship. Helped me rebuild my life and I had to face alot of ugliness I put everyone through. But 7 yrs later. It's our testimony and we have just arranged our lives this way. So I understand when ex is family. And I love hearing other ppl apart of the Black Family mentioning & advocating for therapy saving their lives. It saved mine; I couldn't do it without my Dr Kay. Straight MATURE way to be a father. This has been my approach to my ex. STRESS FREE! My son comes first. And as long as his Mom is good, I know my child is good. I put NO hate or negativity in her world. Happy she is happy and that my son is happy. I have a new woman and they are cool with that. My lady now totally gets me and respects my stance, loves how it doesnt undercut her in any way or form. She even sometimes wish the father of her children were more like me in that regard, but my stance stems from when I was a child. I learned this from when my own parents divorced. My Dad is an Alpha male for real...and so is my step father, but they hit it off. That is apart of me. Gotta allow people to grow, mature, and move on. It IS ego driven. Let that shit go. Different if the guy sucks, but you should be happy if she finds a good dude. Because if he is hurting or hitting her...as a man...you better show TF up.

He has known how to use his strengths throughout his career without compromising (from what we see on the outside looking in anyway.) I’ve never disliked anything I’ve seen him in nor disliked any interview. I need to look up the definition of Vanguard, but I think it means someone who is ahead of their time. I believe Wayne Brady started his career and continues to be ahead of his time. There’s such beauty in a performer entertaining from their authentic self rather than entertaining from a place of wanting to make Executives, advertisers, certain groups happy.

This man just said something, well many things powerful but this one was skipped over. Somewhere in another world there is a Wayne Brady that chose the opposite of what he chose and is sitting lonely, without his daughter and without love (around 14:00 min mark). I am paraphrasing of course. I never gave myself such a perspective.

Look, I don’t care what Wayne says… That Mooney joke was HILARIOUS! I’m talking tears! 💦 Hold up though… When Dave brought Wayne Brady on and let him flip on the woman with “Does Wayne Brady have to choke a b*tch!?” was just as hilarious because you got what they were playing off of from the initial joke. We all get what it meant. Wayne made professional moves that built that idea of himself to the black community. He knows cause he said it when the network had him doing cooking with the old white lady. He knew he needed to shift. Don’t trip though. He pivoted and now he’s here. His joke brought up a lot of topics on what it means to be black. It’s all apart of growth. Big ups to Wayne for the interview! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

That was all about Wayne and not about Paul Mooney. Wayne was classy enough to go on the show and flip the perceptions on their ear. He didn't have to. Hell, Eddie Murphy basically self boycotted SNL for like 25 years because of a David Spade joke that was much more harmless (showed a picture of Eddie and said 'look, a falling star'). But that joke works because of WAYNE, not Paul. It was an insult to Wayne and Bryant Gumbel. Sick of people speaking for other people's Blackness. It's tired. I'd rather there were 100,000 Wayne Brady's and Bryant Gumbel's than one Boosie, I'll say that much.
