One of the best and most overdue interviews they’ve done! She touched on topics that are highly sensitive with courage, grace and respect. Love and respect her role in the culture even more now. P.S. Watch the Boosie interview they’ve done as well.. so much more respect for him being the person he’s become. Flame Monroe joined the interview and it felt organic and true to who they are.

Love the reference to not getting mad at the parents for using the wrong pronouns. I always hear parents say it’s a hard adjustment and it feels like they are losing someone. They have to cope too. And it’s not easy. Accepting is different than respecting.

Im 38 and my father is in prison, been in prison for over a decade. He was never around as a child. Maybe 3 times I remember him coming to visit. My mom was very honest with me growing up, she told me he was an addict and in order to keep me safe, she had to keep him away. She told me that they were in love in the beginning, I was created in a loving enviroment. She thought that having a child and playing house would change him but it did not unfortunately. I have 6 half siblings thanks to him. All up and down the east coast lol

Maddie, you were fabulous on here. Keep up the excellence. My Grandmother always taught me to never allow myself to be offended by name calling, and only answer to the names I believe that I am. Growing up, I was called all sort of explicit offensive names, but never paid those folks any attention. I felt sorry for them because the family I came from, I was taught respect, decorum, and love. I always felt these people came from unloving families and an unloving upbringing. I love how Charlemagne and Angela were very causal and open with you. It was nice seeing the exchange.

On the subject of her learning not to use the word "fish", she really displays the difference between people like her who don't feel entitled to respect from people they don't respect, and seeing respect as a way of treating people the way she'd like to be treated, and people like Boosie who stick to their guns even when they've been informed on how their language effects people and culture negatively.

@@Momodes suicide is not something that's caused by outside people that's something that's already within you. if youre not strong enough mentally, emotionally, that's a you problem nobody can cause you to take your own life I know people want a victimize themselves and it's easy to scape goat somebody else for causing you to take your own life but when you really think about it nothing ever gets that bad for somebody else's words or feelings to make one take their own my life. that's wild.
