Wayne is so right here. I have witnessed them taking bag loads of under sized Sea Bass from the outlet at Torness Power Station. Every Sea Mark i go to they are taking even the smallest Coalies, and on leaving the litter and fishing line left behind is outrageous. More recently Slippy Limpets on You Tube, filmed Grafitti at St Abbs. Something really needs to be done. Our shores are being decimated of small fish to the point that i fear there will be nothing left. Steve in Scotland.

I’m from the US, but I do understand the frustration that you feel. It drives me nuts when I watch a game warden drive up to the lake, and people who can’t speak English drop their poles, or hand them over to their kids, and walk back to their cars to avoid a citation. If I have to buy a fishing license and abide by the regulations, it shouldn’t be too hard for them to do so.

I live in Torbay n hopes nose used to be a nice place to fish but now wouldn’t go their between may n late September..the problem is out of control,it needs sorting out they will take bloody everything n the Chinese are taking box after box of mackerel up the hill everyday in the summer,also was bass fishing one night last summer at low tide on Paignton beach n both my rods tripod the lot went flying down the beach!!turned my head torch on a n a small boat was netting 30/40 yards out in what must of been 2/3ft of water!! Recognised the boat and went and informed the harbourmaster the next morning and what happened NOTHING!!

you should see what happens on langstone jetty and vicky pier, all year around. it's annoyed the hell out of me. there's even one chap who foul hooks as many fish as he can, nearly all under size. i've told ifcam who don't really care because its isn't bass he's catching. i totally agree with wayne, so what can we do?

you need to look at fish markets and the price a box of fish makes for the commercial man, as you go up the chain the price gets very high, most commercial men do OK, but if they were to get a better price at market they might take more interest in the long term future, their future and the fish stock future. A friend who works on Coastwatch has witnessed FPV's ignoring foreign fishing boats where they should not be, and the same FPV harrasing British boats. This is not going to improve the frame of mind of British commercial fisherman. One of the major problems was the yeilding of our fishing waters to the EU by Edward Heath along with our Industry's for this he was awarded the Charlemagne Prize which netted him in excess of £30,000 which he used to buy the first Morning Cloud. The Charlemagne Prize incidently is AKA the Coudenhov-Kalergi Prize which is awarded to heads of State who have done the most to Promote immigration, along with the other things, the purpose of which is to break down the social cohesion of a country by changing the demography. If you are wondering why the police do not pursue illegal fishing by immigrants this might start to provide an answer. the other big problem which is heavily related is United Nations Agenda 21 AKA 20/30 which was written by ex-EXON man Ken Lay for the RIO Earth Summit of 1992 which is available along with it's application document 'Sustainable Development' and I'm afraid Fishing in any form along with just about anything including Private Property is Unsustainable. At last someone tells this sad,shit story.i witness polish on poole quay with a bucket of 22 bass all under 10inches.i was furious so marched them off the quay and made my way to the tackle shop to get a number to report this.i wasnt given one!!i caught 3 lovely bass off the quay 2 nights ago all around 40 inches,so still undersized but i wouldnt even keep them.another thing is the chinese who couldnt care less about shellfishing whenever it suits them out of season cockles etc,lets get together and sort this if authorities couldnt give a damn.our fishing will be dead in 10years and this generation of children now will not get the pleasure of sea fishing as we did!!
