Yep, those were the days when people just did simple things to cars to make them quick ,but again back in the days like early 1980's the products you can by off the shelf were no where as good as what they have now, my friend had a LC GTR and it was doing 10's and a 179 block with NO2 and running meth, but again he spent over 50K just on the motor, now days you don't have to spend that much, its who you know and getting the right balance to get a beast of a car going, i just hate when they simply drop them on the guts put massive 22" wheels and then deck the inside out to the point that they never drive the car say its got this and that done to it, but when it comes to consistent low 12's out of a 202 blue, that is impressive. Fantastic LJ mate keep it clean and keep it safe buddy. Fiend had also a LJ original GTR as well same color and that thing was fast eating up V8\s all the time, tested it was doing 11's and it had 9" 186 with a 750 holly tuned by hume Performance back in the 1980's ,shit that was quick? Also not seena XY / XW with the 221 worked up, which agin most people used to use the 221 crank in the 202's as well. :)

I didn't see any consistent low 12's there, all I saw was one low 13 second pass... Quickest I remember back from the day (80's) was an LJ GTR XU1 running consistent 13.3s with the original motor and no crazy mods. Had Webbers on it, but it was still very streetable. Always wondered how he managed to tweak that out of what was essentially a stock XU1.

What a prime example of someone building a Car to how THEY want it. Not listening to everyone else and saying do this or try that. She may only have a 6 in it, but in some cases, less is more. What a beautiful clean STREET DRIVEN Car.

Why 9 port instead of 12 port head?

9 port flows more with the centre head bolt boss removed and head bolt recessed in port floor, 12 port was designed to have good emissions not so much power.
