I feel like right- and left-eye dominance would be an interesting addition to this video!

I also asked this question on one of Wayne's other videos. I'm left eye dominant and the target can become blurred when aiming.

Same. Makes it so much harder but then I remember Taylor was left eye dominant.

Great advice Wayne, you don't hear it being explained like that. It makes more sense now 👍🏼🎯

I struggled a lot with the set up point, but in the end it all makes sense, if I don't follow through firmly to the target, I can aim and set up as hard as I can, it will be a mess. Thanks for the eye opener 🙏🙏

Good information, Mr Mardel question for you should, should I aim at the flight of the dart when I throw darts two&three to try and get a deflection.

Thank you Mab. Fantastic to watch and will stop focusing on the dart and concentrate on a straight follow through. Love the master classes. 👍🎯

Nice video I’ve been adjusting and concentrating on the wrong area my first part of my throw is solid but kept trying to adjust it. After watching this I played my natural throw and concentrated on follow thru first 15 darts averaged 97 second 15 average 87 the video confirmed I was trying to fix an area that was not broken I tucked my elbow in slightly ensuring my arm was straight and ensured a straight follow thru so will now be practicing this as a pose to trying to change my natural throw. For me ensuring my elbow is aligned straight and not sticking out is an important part for that straight follow thru at least for me. Cheers 🍻 for the short simple but informative video 🎯

The timing of the release and the follow through are imperative

In the mentions it say Joe Cullen the American footballer, not Joe Cullan the darts player, but then it shows Joe Cullen's darts

what can help cross eye dominance? I throw right but am left eye dominant. I struggle with going to the 1's so much.

I wonder if anyone else sees double when they're looking at the dart in front of them? Is it just my eyes? If I bring up the dart to about 8 inches away from my eye (which is my set point), I see double darts. The right hand dart is solid, the left hand dart (about 1 inch away from the right hand dart is sort of see through. If I aim using the see through one, I usually hit what I'm aiming at (or within acceptable distance as I'm new to darts). It works for me, but I wonder if it's strange?

I've been playing 9 months. I also wondered about this. I asked my girlfriend what she's sees too, and she said similar to both you and me. She's no pro though obviously lol. I'm left handed and left dominant. I do know this with certainty. I've done tests. When I set the dart I see the board in focus completely, a solid opaque hand on the left, to the left of the target and slightly under, and I transparent ghost like hand over lapping with the solid hand but more to the right. I line up with the transparent hand. Lining up the tip on the index finger with the target. If when in the set position, I close my eyes one at a time. Closing right eye, the ghost hand becomes solid, and obviously the only one I see now, but crucially, is in line with the target. If I my left eye the my hand moves to the left a lot and it looks as though I'm lining up with the 12 segments. I know this doesn't really answer if it's right or not, but I feel this is probably how most people's eyes work. I do not wear glasses FYI.

Just to add some friendly advice also. I find pointing the tip of your elbow down the line you're aiming, and turn the wrist and forearm all the way out, to be a good way of aiming.

@@Lukeprovan it certainly sounds like what I experience but a mirror image of yours. I didn't think to close each eye to test things. I'm right handed and now I know I'm right eye dominant. When I close my left eye, the ghost hand becomes solid. Cheers mate!
