Today we're going to practice throwing straight by practicing straight throws. This drill is to aim straight and the most important thing for straightness is how straight you throw.

Great vid, found my game has fallen apart despite regular practice and decent doubling definitely going to make this a priority, thanks 👍

My dart nickname is Tony the Bullshotter, and I have got pretty good at the inner and outer bull shots. Also achieved my first ever 180 and 15 minutes later duplicated it. Actually achieved a triple bull too!

Same thing happened to me after 2 years with an average of 85. I have completely forgotten how to hold, release and throw. It seems I'm getting worse with practice. Again, not a beginner and play competitively. How do I get my throw back?😢👍🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@RR10000HoursАй бұрын
I would personally start throwing and just forget the whole technique side and go what feels comfortable and natural throw for an hour just scoring and a few doubles. Whatever shows your best section of form in that period I would try to replicate and build from that but definitely won’t come back to that standard without some solid hours of refining the technique and building confidence in the throw again. All the best 🚀🙌

Hey Ronnie, Love the work you are doing... I have watched many hours of dart vids on youtube but you my friend I find are the vids that really hit home with me. I had a couple ideas for videos you may want to try out. I have struggled with getting a grip and throw that I am 100% comfortable with yet. My idea was an in depth video of breaking down the throw. From explaining the bending of the wrist... the pullback before release- why does the dart get pulled into the hand before release? How does the wrist look just before release? Does it move or stay in that bent position right through the throw completion.? Left eye domininent but throw right- How to compensate and adjust in this situation (myself) Wishing you endless success and keep those vids flowing.... Dave

I used your 3 in the bed drill with d20 I must say it has straightened my darts up a fair bit managed a 60 average yesterday. how would you structure a repeatable daily practice routine practice games wise? I have around an hour spare on a morning and an hour on a night
@RR10000HoursАй бұрын
Warm up 10 mins then practice most on what your weakest element is in terms of feeling the correct technique then do a drill and back to feeling correct technique while throwing at treble 20. For me a drill without thinking about how to throw better is not as effective. Make it more difficult in practice than a match, it shouldn’t be easy or it’s not really practice, more like just throwing and maintaining. 😉🙌

How do I slow down in pressure situations like I’ve been told by idk how many people to slow down I do try but I seem to rush in pressure situations any advice?
@RR10000HoursАй бұрын
It is difficult to do, couple things to work on is constantly trying to create high pressure situations In practice to make practice more difficult than a match for example such as pressure building games or drills. Not just throwing when you have no pressure, also consciously trying to think about rationalising that there is no danger to your health or body when you play a match, your adrenaline spikes because it thinks danger but it can be controlled if practice this. The other thing is breathing exercises and slowing down your heart rate , typical habit is holding your breath slightly which will double the problems in game. Give it a try and hope it helps, the more you play under pressure the more you get used to it🙌

@ thank you I will try that now.
