I bought the balm cleanser and the exfoliant and I can’t say I notice much of a smell. However, it could be that my sense of smell is diminishing with age 😂. It does seem like really good value - balm cleanser is normally super expensive, which I resent when it’s only going down the plug hole! xxx

First of all: a big thank you 🙏 ❤️ for reviewing these products! 🌸🙏🌸 I’ve seen these on Beauty Bay and one product in particular catched my interest and that was the cleansing balm - I love myself a nice cleansing balm and it was that it had safflower oil that really made it extra interesting for me. But a lot of the products aren’t that “super stand out-ish” and I was like huh 🤔 but I’m really curious about them at the same time… But after watching this I think I will buy the cleansing balm and the moisturiser. Thank you! 🌸❤️🌸

Thanks Wayne for the honest review; I just wish I had seen it before I purchased two of the products, the balm and the vit C serum. I'm so disappointed that the fragrance is so overpowering. I'm not sure what it reminds me of, I just know that I cannot use them because one whiff made my head hurt, and I'm not typically affected by fragrance. I don't know what to do with the unopened packages. If I lived in the UK, I would be taking them back.

Edited: I've just realised it smells like a stronger version of Imperial Leather soap! UK children of the 70s & 80s will know exactly what I mean🧼 It's what a gingerbread man in a room of incense would smell like! Lovely products but I absolutely hate the smell too. So many reviews I read haven't mentioned the scent at all (which is strange given it's so strong) so I'm really glad you've brought it to people's attention.

I've got a weird sensitivity thing. If it's in something I can wash off completely, I'm ok like shampoo or face wash. If it's something like moisturizer or leave-in conditioner my scalp and my eyes and around my mouth do not like fragrance or essential oils high on the ingredients list. My nose rarely gives me headaches though from fragrance. It might make my tummy a bit queasy and I might need some fresh air but definitely not the instant migraines some people have. Hugs.

I'm with you regarding fragrances. Why would you put fragrance in facial products
@s_shaleh2 жыл бұрын
Because sometimes you need to. I wanted so badly to try the Paula's Choice Omega + complex moisturizer but it stinks like hell (and it wasn't cheap either. It's definitely more expensive than Sali's products here) that I thought mine had already gone off. I'd only used it twice and I had to toss it in the bin just because I couldn't get over the smell. So there are definitely situations where the inclusion of fragrance is warranted. Also, you know, it's really subjective. There are just as many people who love fragrance in their skincare as those who don't. So it's really hard for a company to make that choice because it'd mean that they'd have to sacrifice one group over the other, unless they decide to come out with two versions of the same product, which isn't necessarily a viable decision from a business standpoint. Lastly, with regards to fragrance being a potential skin allergen, that is still a highly debatable subject. A few years ago fragrance in skincare was practically demonized by the KZbin community but nowadays more and more dermatologists have come forward to say that fragrances are not necessarily harmful to the skin, unless you have a true allergy to fragrance. So if that's you, then please do avoid it. But for the rest of us, it's not something we should be losing sleep over.

I recently got their miracle cream which is supposed to be dupe for magic cream by Charlotte Tilbury. I used it two nights and today in the day. And it also has a weird playdo smell. In the day of using it, it made my skin drier and Im noticing smaller breakouts on my forehead and cheeks now. Everywhere else Im seeing positive reviews tho.
@chrissymoss5142 жыл бұрын
Why? Why are brands STILL shoving fragrance/essential oils into their products? I'm particularly diligent about avoiding added fragrance (of any kind) but more specifically with my skincare products. Sadly, many younger people are going to buy these as the prices are so low. This can leave them vulnerable to becoming very sensitive to fragrance in the future or, worse still, contracting "contact dermatitis". Beggar off with all this fragrance, we don't need or want it.

Speak for yourself, I don’t mind fragrance in my products and my skin can tolerate it. Everyone is not a monolith.
@chrissymoss5142 жыл бұрын
@@nadiahassan5307 I'm flummoxed as to why my comment has made you so angry. If your skin (or anyone else's) can tolerate fragrance, then that's great. However, there's a large section of people who really can't - of these, a percentage will know immediately if their skin can tolerate fragrance. Then, there's a larger percentage who initially tolerate fragrance but, over time, develop an intolerance towards it. My comment doesn't effect your experience or ability to tolerate fragrance. Lastly, your use of the word "monolith" is also confusing. How is a monolith relevant to this conversation? It is defined as follows : MONOLITH : : 1. a single great stone often in the form of an obelisk or column A granite monolith stands at the center of the park. 2 : a massive structure The 70-story monolith is one of Europe's tallest buildings.

Oooh I saw this product line advertised but I was disappointed with no SPF product. Bu the target market for Revolution Beauty London is not us 30, 40 and 50 year olds. It's people in their 20's and teens and when have you ever seen them concerned about sunscreen. I went on a club 18-30 holiday for a week. By the middle of it, severe sunburns abounded amongst the majority of the holidaymakers. When I was at uni in my twenties, I literally had to drag a friend to the beauty counter for a moisturiser for her painful dry red flaky face. Lol! I was such a square but I don't have wrinkles at 40 so I guess being a square worked for my face.

@natisb77132 жыл бұрын
Can answer my own question - found this in a refinery article: 'There are five acids in this exfoliating toner. Lactic acid (6%), glycolic acid (2%) and malic acid (2%) provide exfoliation. Then there's salicylic acid (0.5%) for unclogging pores and tranexamic acid (0.5%), which tackles pigmentation and dark spots. That's quite a lot of acids.'
