This isn't just a moisturiser. It's a miracle. It's truly transforming. It allowed me to use 0.01% Tretinoin without any side effects. YES! Its amazing!
Link drsambunting.c...
Here's a statistic to make you stop scrolling: the hashtag#Skinbarrier has 5 BILLION views on on TikTok.
This “trend” is here to stay it seems. So we’re adding Flawless Moisturiser Intense to the family this week - and this is not your average moisturiser.
Now, this was a product I felt I needed to create.
I’ve watched the trends of flooding and slugging come and go. But I felt there had to be a better way to help patients and customers fix their barrier, by getting to the root cause. Plus, I felt it had to be possible to repair your skin barrier with a cosmetically elegant formula, rather than the traditional very functional formulas which were thick and gloopy, and caused breakouts, wrecked your pillowcases and your blowdry.
But first things first - how do you know if your barrier is damaged?
Visual scale of barrier dysfunction
Let’s look at the spectrum:
MIld skin barrier damage looks like this:
Nothing visible
Feels tight after cleansing
Products might sting on application
When it’s more severe, these are the features:
Redness
Dry, flaky patches
New breakouts in odd places
Skin itches
“Everything burns”
Now a delicate skin barrier might be your norm if you suffer with eczema or rosacea. But it can happen to any of us, usually as a consequence of overdoing skincare at a time when we’re stressed, doing longhaul travel or not sleeping well.
The Science Behind A Damaged Skin Barrier
When your barrier is breached, it refers to the outermost bit of your epidermis (which is the layer on the outside interfacing with the environment sitting on top of the dermis, where the collagen lives). This is the stratum corneum.
Your epidermis’s main job is to create a very special layer of keratin embedded within a wall of lipids that keeps the good stuff in, like water and the bad stuff, like irritants, pollution and UV, out.
When we overdo things - too many actives, too much cleansing, a tricky environment - this layer gets breached and everything goes wrong. Things penetrate underneath that shouldn’t, and we end up in a nasty vicious cycle as this of course makes things worse.
Now the amazing thing about your skin is it knows how to repair itself. But it gets harder as we age. Repair takes energy. And a critical energy molecule called NAD+ starts to tank, affecting our cell batteries. Levels are at 50% or less once we hit 40. Up until now we haven’t been able to address this with skincare. But things are about to change.
Traditionally we applied a layer of occlusive ingredients, like mineral oil, on the surface to protect the skin, whilst it struggled to repair the damage. This is what I call outside-in repair.
But with Flawless Moisturiser Intense, for the first time we can start to repair from the inside-out. Using a breakthrough ingredient called Sunflower Sprout Extract (SSE) we can address that struggling battery and help recharge it, boosting levels of NAD+.
I've combined this into a triple action barrier repair product that also helps reduce water loss on the surface with ectoin, squalane, ceramides and glycerin. In fact, its clinically proven to support barrier repair from the first application.
And we’re targeting the microbiome as well, to bolster skin’s defences as it repairs.
When do I need to add this in?
This is the perfect product to support repair after summer - make it the cornerstone of your transitional skincare kit. Remember to press pause on actives while you’re doing this.
I’ve formulated Flawless Moisturiser Intense to be lightweight and elegant, rather than gloopy or oily. It won’t clog pores so it's ideal for you acne-prone sensitive types. It’s perfect for use day and night, and is brilliant under make-up. Combine it with Flawless Cleanser and your Flawless SPF of choice for an easy peasy solution to that damaged skin barrier.
In fact 98% of our consumer testing group said it made skin feel more hydrated and soothed after just 1 week’s use.
And what I’m especially excited about is how easy it makes using a retinoid. It's the perfect way to prep your skin on your first actives journey, especially if it's sensitive and if you’re starting a retinoid for the very first time.
And as for seasoned retinoids users like me? With FMI in my routine, I know my skin has the right resources to make the most of its many benefits.

I have just returned from a holiday in the US. While there, I needed an intensive super hydrating cream for my face and hands. I did not want to spend too much, so visited Walmart where I got a $5 cream, Gold Bond. My word, it is miraculous! I returned the next day and bought 3 different products, all fabulous! Some are sold on Amazon, but 3 or 4 times more expensive. And just like Wayne's discovery, it "cured" my husband's eczema patch. This is not in any way to diminish the virtues of Dr Sam's cream, but for those who cannot afford it, Gold Bond is an excellent option. Please note I don't work for them or have any affiliations. Just like Wayne, I want to share my findings as it may help some of you.

I love it when you are excited about a product and you care enough to share your results with us.🙂 I also could not use Tretinoin. Even the .5 made my skin burn and peel beginning on the second day after applying up to 5 days after. I tried to use it with all sorts of Moisturizers and after 1 year I still couldn't tolerate it. This product might help with that. Thank you for sharing with us❤

Hi, I have sensitive skin and have just started using tretinoin but you must use it very sparingly for 10 mins for 3 nights then wash off, then 20 mins for 3 nights then wash off, then 40 mins for 3 nights and wash off. Do this for 2-3 weeks and then you can gradually increase the length of time and eventually leave it on over night. I’m doing this at the moment and have no peeling but it’s slightly dry so I need a really good moisuriser. This might be the one! I hope this helps :)
@sunshinegirl1655

@@cheekyllamacreations thank you for the suggestion❤️. I have tried this method and also the sandwich method of a moisturizer fist then the tretinoin and moisturizer on top. Leaving it for 10 minutes then washing it off. My skin still responded the same way after 1 year. I was told that the constant redness and peeling is the inflammatory response that my skin experiences with tretinoin and that can actually contribute to a aging appearance with continuous use getting the same reaction. Some people just do not tolerate it. I have found only one retinol cream from Neutrogena that I can use every other night without any issues. I will look into the moisturizer in Wayne's review. Since he had success it just might help me.

@@sunshinegirl1655 This happened to me too, I gave 0.05 a year, tried all the tips out there, and ultimately quit. I have melasma and the constant inflammation and irritation was doing me no favors. After a 6 month break, I’m starting at .025 with 15% azelaic acid because I really need to address this dang texture and bumps that won’t go away. After a week of every-other-day use, I am definitely getting some minor peeling around my nose and chin but pretty good otherwise. I hope that lessens over the next few weeks 🤞

I just placed my order and fingers crossed this works for me as it did for you. Thank you so much for sharing Wayne !!❤

I can't purchase and ship to the US either. Really too bad. Maybe after the brand grows, they will do international shipping

I had to come back after using this for a couple of weeks to RAVE about this product. I bought it the second i finished your video and it has completely changed my dry skin and retinol sensitivity. It mattifies me, somehow reduces my pore size and leaves NO TRACE of flakey, dry or damaged skin. Thank you SO much for recommending this product. The only negative i have is that it smells like a barrier cream. I need a larger, body version for KP and folliculitis because i think it would work absolute wonders

Wayne, how does it compare to the embryolisse creams?

I just got embryolisse lait creme sensitive. Not started using it yet as finishing up my la roche posay one. Am hoping it's good.

The sensitive one has a completely different texture to that of the original. It’s more like a lotion poured into a tin tube, which literally pours out of the tube, if you are not careful with it, personally I don’t like it and only changed because I didn’t like the scent/ fragrance of the original. So an epic fail for me and will use it up as a hand cream.

@monicaduncan7109 I opened it and it wasn't too runny. I liked the la roche posay sensitive fluid but for the price you hardly get any and it runs out quickly.

I purchased this moisturizer a few weeks before I even saw this video… I fell in love with it! I just re-ordered it and I am also going to try the cleanser and one other product. The best moisturizer I have ever used so your review is spot on! ❤️ Nice to hear you like it too😊
