*Yesterday I was helping my friend set up some deer feeders and I thought I'd take you along for the adventure.* We wanted to try making cheap deer feeder first. We decided to go this route, by using schedule 35 drain pipe rather than going all out and making a bucket with a wind activated release trigger. For now, we're going to try it on the cheap and see if we can't change the pattern of the deer just a bit... I do not know if this is legal in your state so you will need to check your regulations before you do this. *I hope you find it helpful in some way.*

I'll watch for the videos of the squirrels and racoons. LOL

Yes...LOL...It's highly likely the deer won't get any. If so, we will get more elaborate!

I could give you a few tips...you have to sit VERY still and then hand feed them it works with our bunnies and ground squirrels. So what if the neighbors think I'm nuts! LOL Feeding a Wild Bunny Rabbit by Hand

What a neat idea Wayne. I hope it helps. The squirrels didn't bother our corn to much but the turkey's had a field day with it :) Thanks for sharing your idea!

***** - Thank You Rick, I hope it does work...I was guessing the raccoon would be the biggest challenge. I haven't seen any turkey over that way, I'd love to see one of them too!

Interesting, can you set a trail cam up to see the activity?
@WayneMeador11 жыл бұрын
Yes Dean O, we could easy enough but I doubt he's going to want to spend the money on it...it's for his hunting ground. I'm still looking for mine! :-)

Hey I know it's been awhile since anyone has commented here, but how much corn can you fit in a 5 ft section on the wye end feeder?
@boyinblue82311 жыл бұрын
if you guys have a trail camera you should set it up and see what is eating out of the feeder.
@WayneMeador11 жыл бұрын
We don't have a trail camera, but we are thinking about getting one...they aren't too expensive it I recall correctly!? Thanks for the suggestions, I love them...keep em' comin'!

Nice and simple. I'm not a hunter, Wayne, but I understand that in most states it is illegal to "bait" a field for hunting game or birds. Is spreading the corn on the ground around this feeder considered "baiting"?
@WayneMeador11 жыл бұрын
I believe it's illegal in NC to bait deer as well...that said, deer season is over today so this will hopefully help them to change their daily travel patterns and make next year much better! :-)

Like the idea. Would like to hear the follow up on this as to how it worked out.
@WayneMeador10 жыл бұрын
Maybe I'll go out there again sometime and shoot a video but what I can tell you is that it worked really, really, really well! The deer went crazy and dug out a lot of dirt from around the feeders...I will be building more of them for sure!
@jimsmij10 жыл бұрын
Did the "J" tube or the "straight" one with the angle cut work better?
@WayneMeador10 жыл бұрын
Jim S - The one with the Tee Wye and the Drain cap on the bottom of it worked much better.
@talon5018 жыл бұрын
How has this worked out for you? Hopefully great! Still using it?
@davidbrewer79376 жыл бұрын
I am all into "KISS": Keep It Simple Stupid! I like the one with the "T" 45 & the drain cap but I think the one with the log under the angled cut off would soon get raided by bears up here (not that it would take them much to tear apart either if they were a mind to do so..

Hey Wayne, can I ask how you put the subscribe and g+ button/link on your videos? Ive been watering to do something like that. Thx much! Z
@WayneMeador11 жыл бұрын
Yes, they are buttons with clear backgrounds and I just edit them onto the top of the video using software. If you want me to send them to you, PM me your email and I'll shoot them over to you and you can use them too. :-)
@ZivaForFreedom11 жыл бұрын
what editing software do you use?

ZivaForFreedom Camtasia Studio but there are others that are cheaper and do just the same thing!
