The tire at the end of the video is 215mm wide, 150.5mm thick (from the 70% aspect ratio), radially constructed, and fits on a 15in rim. Lastly, the 98T signifies that it is designed to carry up to 1653lbs at 118mph. This is fun! Thanks for the video, can't wait to impress my friends with my knowledge.

Nice! Love that you mentioned that run-flats get replaced, not repaired when you get to a shop. They are ‘used up’ driving them flat and are only rated to survive for (generally) 50mi at or below 50mph before the fail completely. The reinforcement Inside that enables the run on flat technology and carries the load rubs together cutting a V groove into the inner sidewalls that is not visible from The outside which makes them unsafe to repair. Many shops have a no repair policy on run-flat since it is consumed and they cannot guaranteed It will survive a second 50mi at 50mph trip. Keep up the good work :)

The run flat tire was not harmed during the filming of this video.....but it was destroyed by someone with a Bulging Massive Wallet.

If you mentioned this, then I missed it, but I noticed that on LT tires, they have a "Load Range C" or "Load Range D." What does that mean on these kind of tires? Thanks, great info!
@wayofthewrench Жыл бұрын
The load range refers to the amount of weight they can carry and the higher pressures these tires can run. They often are also tell the amount of plies inside the tire ( more plies, higher pressures, higher loads). The maximum load and pressure will be on the sidewall for these tires. Thanks for the watch and welcome to the channel!

my VW Jetta the aspect ratio is 45z..,what is the z?
@wayofthewrench Жыл бұрын
The z is the speed rating for the tire. If you look up z speed rating, it'll tell you how fast the tires are rated for. Thanks for the watch!
