Other than towing, you can compensate for driving style with air pressures too. The spec is based on even wear when used with a combination of city/highway driving. City roads don’t generate the heat that highways do inside the tires and the pressure increases less. So if you drive all city at the spec pressures you’ll still get under inflated wear, all highway driving will wear a little over inflated. The idea being the tire wears slightly uneven but the combined wear is even.. should you live in a small town, drive an intercity style electric car, be so old you avoid long drives or regularly drive above the posted limits you can compensate for your induced irregular wear yourself. EV’s and townies can add an additional 3-4psi in the city, and air down to spec for trips. Or if your going for the excessive speeding hi-score you can knock 2-3psi off the spec card. The goal is to maximize the time spent with even wear.
