Assalamu Alaykum, I have a question, Is non-muslim not allowed to have the Arabic Mushaf? I have an interest in Islam and want to become muslim. There is a uncle(not my relative) who is a muslim, i use to share my thought and doubt about islam with him. I have bought many Islamic books from online to know more about islam and I also have the Quran translation book. So, later on I decided to buy Arabic Mushaf from my nearest Masjid. I have talk with uncle that I wanted to have Arabic Mushaf and he went to talk with the imam of that masjid. But the imam denied saying, I cannot have the Quran unless i take sahada in the masjid or in front of scholar. Is he correct? and by the way before this, i went to take shahada in that same masjid, but he said first I have to go to the court to change my religion in my documents(Christianity to Islam). Wailaikum, May Allah bless you abundantly. Your desire to accept Islam and act upon its teachings is one of the greatest blessings that Allah has bestowed upon you. In'sha'Allah, you should take your shahaadah as soon as you can - even if your legal documents are not in order. If one mosque is telling you that you can't take it, I would go to another mosque that won't mind. Taking the shahaadah is something that should not be delayed. If you are not a muslim, I don't think you can have an arabic mushaf - because you have to be in a state of wudu (ritual purity) in order to touch it, and Allah knows best. You will learn more about ritual purity as you live life as a muslim In'sha'Allah. For the time being, you can use an English translation (or translation in whatever language is easy for you). I ask Allah to make it easy for you to take your shahaadah, and get an arabic mushaf as soon as possible.
