I hope Chloe doesn't mind me mentioning this, but I would check out Flower Moxie if you're in America. You can order your flowers online and have them delivered to you. Her KZbin channel has SO much detailed instruction on how to prep, care for and design your flowers. I sadly don't live in America, so never ordered before, but there's plenty of info and reviews online. And Amy usually answers questions quite promptly on KZbin and instagram, so if you're not sure about something, you can definitely get help, or just call them. Good luck! I used to work at a florist and working with flowers is so fun, creative and relaxing. You really can't go too wrong since flowers are pretty on their own anyway!

Great advice about setting a budget. Spot on! Also getting married on a weekday is HUGE savings. For the invitations printing info on the ftont and accomodations and other details on the back saves a lot of money. You can also include a QR code on the back for rsvp. The last suggestion to help save money is asking for quotes for a "party" instead of wedding reception. As she stated in the vudeo, once the word wedding is heard the price for the same items automatically increase. I also had a wedding with no alcohol which cut our budget by 35% and did not impact the experience. This video shares a lot of gems.

We saved a ton of money on invitations by doing them all electronically through Canva. We only had a handful that needed to be delivered by mail, the rest were all emailed. So we spent maybe a few dollars. We agree with you completely that $600 is just way too much for something that's going to end up in the trash. The only we had with electronic invites was that some of them just weren't going through so we had to follow up and re-send them. We kept decorations to a minimum (for time and money) and did a lot through Amazon and Temu, including fake flowers which weren't a priority to us for the same reason as invitations, they'll just end up in the trash (dead). Average cost of wedding flowers in 2023 was around $3k and we spent less than $100.

Hey there! Thanks so much for the details. It was helpful to have your perspective! I think people say you should set an overall budget first for the whole wedding because it’s very easy to get swept up in the planning. If you don’t set an overall maximum cost, and your dream photographer is the first vendor you book that costs $5k, you could quickly exceed the amount you can actually afford (without carrying credit card balances, etc) if that real max cost number is $15k that you haven’t actually decided on. Sure maybe you don’t need to set exact numbers for each vendor, but it’s likely that at some point you will have to prioritize and cut back on things that don’t matter as much. It’s crazy how much debt people take on to have a dream wedding. I want everyone to have that special day, but not at the cost of their future financial stability. Just my thoughts as someone who is likely going to have a higher than avg cost wedding but also deeply committed to paying for it in cash no matter what 😂

For sure there needs to be a budget set for yourself or ones who are paying for it, but my point was that sometimes you don't know how much things cost until you start looking into it. So I feel like getting some quotes of things first can help so that you can then determine what a realistic and comfortable budget is! :)

Do wedding planners work with DIY brides? Ex. If I found my own venue, and I’m doing my own decor, and perhaps even rentals (tents, tables, etc), could I get the planner to put it all together? Could I get a planner to be a say month-of and day-of coordinator only? Just trying to understand how any DIY brides ultimately manager the wedding day when it arrives.

I’m sure you can! We didn’t use a planner so idk too many details, but I’m sure you can tailor it to you 🫶🏼

Hi Chloe! i'm currently planning my wedding too and in Austin the florist quotes are insane! I watched your other video on the specifics of your florals and i was curious how yall stored your florals for those two days before the wedding? that was my biggest concern with doing it myself but you didn't mention it so i'm assuming it wasn't too much of a hassle? This would be such a big budget cut for us! Thank you!!
@thechloesalazar Жыл бұрын
Yay congrats on your planning and soon to be marriage! 🫶🏼🤍 I’m so happy you’re considering doing your own florals, I promise it’ll be worth it. As for storage, we kept the buckets they came in with water, and just kept them inside the house. Once we cut the boutonnières, we placed those in the fridge. Other than that, that’s about it! Two days before the wedding you should be good to go. Just make sure your shipment is fresh from that day 👀

Can you share the amount of flowers you ordered from Trader Joe’s? I’m having a hard time figuring out how much I need to order. I went into Trader Joe’s yesterday and they said they weren’t sure if they could order that many (I said 10 cases of baby’s breath for reference). I want something similar to what you did. White roses, some hydrangeas, and a lot of baby’s breath!

@@thechloesalazar haha I want alcohol free too. The majority of my friends and family don't drink, it's a huge added expense, I don't want to have people getting drunk on the day. Also have lots of friends with kids too. It's way cheaper to be a teetotaller! 😅😂

I am also considering an alcohol free wedding. If your family and friends are being childish about and or worse not even come, then they don’t love you… it’s as simple as that. You should have the wedding YOU want

It’s so tacky how people would only come to a wedding for free alcohol, if u don’t like it then u truely don’t like the bride and groom...who are u going for? Them or the alcohol? It shies u have a real issue
@deannahaynes166818 күн бұрын
Some people are sober :) so I think alcohol free weddings can be completely appropriate and people should come to support a couple, gather, enjoy food… not just to drink 😅

Dude, if a vendor is out of budget then get a different vendor. There is lots of vendors at multiple different prices, but a starting of what you want i feel makes you fe3l better about the amout you are spending
