Wow! Paul was my friend and guitar teacher for 3 years in Melbourne Florida. He taught at Florida Discount Music off of Babcock Street and US1. He charged me $8 for a half hour BUT... because he saw I had a budding talent...he extended my lesson from 3pm to 4pm at no additional charge. I still have all his hand written chords..scales...modes and cassette tapes of all my lessons with him! I heard he has a daughter in Florida. Man I would love to talk to her and tell her what her dad meant to me!!

@@brittanychapman9216 Wow!! No way! Your dad was the coolest and a true Welsh gentleman! He unlocked the guitar fretboard in my mind! He played a headless Steinberger (?) guitar when he taught me lessons! As brilliant as he was on guitar he had no ego I could detect. I still have a magazine Guitar Player for The Practicing Musician in which the question was asked to major bands "Whom do you name as a most underrated guitarst?" This was likely in 87 or 88. The guitarists in Iron Maiden said Paul Chapman! I found out he had passed when I went to look him up after all these years to try and contact him. I was glad I was in my apartment here in Rockledge as I did shed some tears. Just so you know, I am a guy that uses the old Band Name 'Rachel Flair' I was in for years (we went no where fast). We All a had great jobs that we would not quit. A friend of mine Jack, an older gentleman that I now work with, knew your dad also and attended his celebration service. What I'm about to say is a tribute to Paul. I played for 15 years at my church every week, twice a day. I played rhythm and leads. I cannot count the number of times people would ask me after a service " So what band did you play in before this?" or "You obviously played in a good band...mind if I ask which one?" My response was "I had a great guitar teacher!" I would love to have coffee with you someday and show you my pages of handwritten notes! Truly "Heroes Die Young"..but they never fade away! That is from Save Your Prayers with Pete Way (as I'm sure you know).

@@brittanychapman9216 Your Dad Was An Incredible Artist & Filled Years Of My Life With His Talent, I Have All Of His Work With UFO, WAYSTED, & GHOST. I'd Love To See Some Of His "Gator Country" Videos If There Is Any & You Have Access. Not Too Many Guitarists Could Or Would Try To Fill Schenker's Shoes But Your Dad Did So With Ease & Made UFO His Own !!! I Know You Must Be Proud !!! He Was Well Loved & He Is Sadly Missed. R.I.P. Save Your Prayers is an AMAZING album!! My only regret is I never got to see this line up live. This is the album that not only introduced me to the awesomeness that is Pete Way, but as a drummer it was my first time seeing Johnny Dee (who would eventually go on to play with Britny Fox), Danny Vaughn and Paul Chapman! I owe so much to this album. Thank you so much for posting and sharing this. I am extremely grateful!!

Two of my all time favorites: Tonka and Pete! Both were so damn good together here. I was lucky enough to see Tonka and Pete during the Golden Years of UFO. Thanks for this, completely took away the gloom of Pete’s death. Both though will be horribly missed.

So Maiden and Waysted played the Meadowlands arena in NJ on March 28th, 1987, are you saying they went over to Brooklyn to play in this club later that night?
