i think that Zen is beginning to show us how important it is to set up some plays to bounce and read the ball off the ceiling. He had so many shots where the opponents couldn't read his play because of the crazy fast ceiling read he does. This could be a glimpse into what the meta is shifting towards? Incredible video! One thing I wished you would’ve mentioned was his unique bindings. He uses L2 for air roll left, which allows him to control how fast he rolls depending on how hard he presses the trigger. It also allows him to press it lightly and still air roll left without flipping when he uses his second jump. No idea how nobody has thought to do it before him, but a ton of pros are starting to copy it.

@Ren3gade Жыл бұрын
Right there with you. I pushed Counter-Strike competitively pretty hard as a young teenager, but getting close to 30 and just dont have the time/energy anymore to hang in the competitive scene. This skill ceiling shown here is down right nasty. Being able to start a competitive game at such a young age (8-12 years old) has such huge advantages.

Amen. I played the game for nearly 3 years straight from 2016-2019, peaked at champ 2, started a job soon after and didn’t have the time for RL anymore. I hop on every 6 months or so for a week and I can still get back to champ 2, but it will always be my ceiling because I don’t have the time to put into learning the newer mechanics. Zen totally flipped the pro Rocket League scene on its head. Zen's got mad skills and his plays are next level, like he's unlocked a whole new tier of skill that's just for him. Zen and his squad shook up the RLCS meta that was getting kinda stale. They brought back the hype to RLCS, making it the highlight reel it used to be. Zen killed it in his RLCS debut and Vitality crushed it by being the first main region team to win all three regionals in a split. They've totally changed the game in Rocket League.

I am amazed that I predicted back in 2021 after watching Zen that he was an absolute player to watch, but I could not have truely predicted him becoming essentially the best Rocket League player in the history of the game. He is amazingly consistent in 1’s, 2’s and 3’s, has won his first three RLCS debuts and amassed such a following that has not been seen since Justin scored his (then) insane famous goal. I have to agree with Wayton on this one and will certainly echo the sentiment that Zen does indeed deserve his own tier of player skill level. He has, without a doubt, set the bar for the game. I can’t say much else except that I am keen to watch him play and perform in the future.

In France we predicted that as soon as we started to see him in every pros ranked games and clipping them one by one. I remember when I was on Kaydop's streams and Zen connecting to the game and Kaydop was like "Ok I need to be careful I don't want to get double reseted by a 14yo kid" and all the chat already knowing his name and knowing he was dangerous. But just like you, no one could've ever predict he would become (in his first split) such a top tier player already making himself a legend.

I saw Zen playing against and with former Pro players a few years ago on twitch. He was getting flamed by them for being a tryhard noob who would never achieve something with his tryhard playstyle. Look who he has become by trying harder than anyone else. Failing harder because of trying harder back in the days, overcame all the critics and flames from Pro players. Work hard, play hard and dont let anyone disturb your passion. The most beautifull story of someone who worked hard, didnt listen to any other Pro players critics and become the best RL player ever.
