I learned 5 new freestyle Rocket League mechanics in just 5 days! In this video, I walk you through my learning process and take you on the journey to see which mechanics I was able to learn and which mechanics I failed with.

This is the first video I've done of this sort. There's not a lot of mechanics I haven't learned but if you all enjoy this video enough, I could do another just like it. I had a fun time making this video. Learning mechanics is one of the most fun things to do in Rocket League, however, when you reach a higher level, you run out of important things to learn to help you rank up. On the other hand, it helps expand your mind to more creative ways of scoring and indirectly improving your gameplay all around.

The moral of the story is get out there and practice mechanics that are very situational and you'll get good. In all seriousness, no matter what you practice in Rocket League you'll get better at the game. You can translate these skills into something more practical in comp. Wayton when you want to pogo the tilt of your car is what changes it you were drifting your car more upright when you aren't getting it you need to keep it at a small angle

the rapid reset is when you get a reset from just diagonal flip with no cancel. but you are doing another version of the double flip reset where you cancel the diagonal flip. that shot doesnt rly have a name yet tho maybe it has but i havent heard of it.

Any chance you could make a tutorial on directional air roll? And since I'm trying to learn it and when to use it in general air roll for recoveries/saves/shots, but directional air roll for aerials, resets, air dribbles, double taps etc.? ☺️ Have a great day!

can you make a tutorial on the twist flip mechanic you talked about in your other video about the 5 mechanics that will become the meta in 2021? i can't find any tutorials for it online and it seems like a really useful mechanic to have

So I'm not a great freestyler although I'm practicing to get better, but I got a great tip for pogo bounces. It's all about the end of match win dance screen. Jump up, air roll a bit to the side, and flip diagonally to try and spin like a top on the corner of your hitbox. If you time it right you can even stay standing on the corner of your hitbox without any controller input. By doing that you get a great feel for how to hit your hitboxes for pogos, cause it's always a bit farther than feels comfortable with. From the two or three first shots you fail to bounce again I can easily tell it's because you're not tilted towards your roof enough. :)

for the 180 wavedash you dont really need to go on your front corner, also if you wanna try it again i would suggest using a flat car like the dominus or breakout

The pogo mechanic is actually lot easier than it seems, all u need to do is to position ur car somewhat same like wayton did and right before touching the ground u need to hold ur stick down

So for pogos I've learned you have to hit the corner where the momentum is taking you. If you boost straight down then your corner needs to be up and down. If you boost off the ceiling at an angle, your car needs to be angled in a way to counteract the momentum. It's not luck.

Here’s my list of mechanics I want to learn pinching, idk why I just can’t do them speed flip, check air dribble, almost there! Ceiling shot, haven’t practiced dribbling consistently, and good haven’t practiced double taps, landed a few while doing airdribbles, breezi, haven’t practiced, but low and behold the flip reset, haven’t mastered air dribbles and would like to learn other mechanics first
