I totally understand the confusing feeling that u get the first time u listen to this song, I think that with nct, u either love or hate their discography because they have such a unique sound, I personally love the way they mix different genres in their song cuz it makes the song less repetitive so I basically never get bored of it

Yeah, songs with higher level of complexity and intricacy, even if beautiful, sometimes aren't easily appreciated at first listen. On My Youth is a little bit more sophisticated than the usual kpop song so I'd understand if some listeners don't get it right away.😅 Don't worry, many people actually love this song a lot and it's okay if not everyone will get it.😊

To each their own but I honestly think you just weren't able to digest the song yet on first listen. Like some people get it right away, some need to hear it a couple of times, and then some just won't ever get it. WayV has a lot of great songs but I honestly think this is one of their best ever especially since it really resonated with me and I was really swept away by the buiild up near the last part. But then yeah, some of the their fans also didn't appreciate it and thought their b-side Poppin Love should have been their title track. Of course i disagree cuz for me On My Youth is a masterpiece and many people who are new to WayV actually got interested in them cuz of this song. I guess this is just one of those songs that polarize people. But it's interesting to note that this was received so well by critics that the arranger of this song was actually awarded for this piece.
