Just a shot in the dark, but I'm guessing it was more of a business related decision. DigitalRev's ultimate goal is to sell camera gear, however, even with the #1 KZbin channel about camera gear, they are nowhere in the running as a camera gear store. You can argue that they could have kept the channel as it was probably funding itself. But they probably believed that the type of content on KZbin conflicted in some way in how they want to be ultimately perceived in the industry. So they are completely changing the type of content they offer. More education, less entertainment.

Yes I would say they had a good shot to creatively use their videos, instead of blatantly saying to buy a camera. I recall kai and his reviews of the cameras were always neutral, so perhaps in that sense he wasn't really "selling it"

I'm interested in your pre-drtv-background. We know what Kai and Lok did immediately before drtv but not so much where you came from. Maybe it is something to include briefly in a future video, so we can start to feel like we can get to know you a little? I was sad like everyone else to see Kai and Lok seem to phase out, but at the same time I really was digging the style you and Ian had for the AnalogRev series.
