I think one reason the KTX-1 and Class 373 trains sound similar is because they both have similar power systems. Both trains have the same number of cars, and they both have an extra motor at the first and last car, which helps with acceleration. Additionally, both trains were based on the TGV Réseau, although the Réseau is shorter than both the Class 373 and KTX.

Aditya Wahyu, Yes both tracks and train design. South Korea tracks/tunnels are designed to run at over 350kph. Currently, they’re building and testing newer train KTX-III to run at normal service speed 350kph. However, the Shinkansen Tokyo-Osaka track built early 1960s wasn’t designed for that kind of speed. Their max speed is set for 270kph because of old track/tunnels design.
