As a Superman fan, Superman is far less emotionally complex than the character of Peter Parker. Not saying he’s boring at all, I think that’s a dumb take, but Peter constantly has more on his plate and just has more personality in general. Also, Superman has been recast 3x as much as Spider-Man. This is nothing new. As much as I loved Cavill as Clark, no single actor owns a role, especially Superman. Also Brandon Routh was definitely not a miscast, he was just in a poorly written movie.

Rob said there was no contract but there was an agreement he wasn't just returning for a cameo he was told he was returning and they were going to start work on Man of Steel 2 there is already leaks of the script and even in Henry Cavil's post he said the previous regime told him to announce his return and the new people in charge went a different direction. That's why people are so mad within a couple months he was returning fans were happy we were on track to get another Henry Cavil movie to the first thing James Gunn does is decide not to do that.

I do not like Snyder's take on any of it. I do not support the obsession with the Snyderverse. Snyder caused this with doing BVS before MOS 2. HOWEVER, I do not trust James Gunn's take on anything. I find him to be subversive in his style which I would HATE for Superman. A studio head normally can leave creative to the writers and directors. But when Gunn is doing it all he can make Superman in his own fashion and Superman could become very unlikable.

The budget could lower a bit. Black Adam in my opinion had a very big budget and it wasn't necessary. So instead of 250m budget it could get 180-200 and still be fine. And again as I told they were all in the shine of Marvel. And let's be honest Marvel has a much bigger audience than DC. And let me ask you something. Do you believe that the new DC movies that James Gunn is preparing will make a billion in the box office? I can assure you they will not pass 600m. In fact 600will be good.

While I’m not a huge fan of Gunn firing Henry Cavil and rebooting the DCEU. I mean we did have some bangers such as both suicide squad movies, Man of Steel, Synders Justice league, and Wonder Women. (Personally I liked Black Adam) Everyone should give Gunn a chance before people want him fired. Personally for me Gunn’s movies in the past were great so I’m willing to give him a chance to prove himself. Based off his past movies I think he will do fine. Maybe with him we could get at least 2 good DC’s movies a year, instead of having to wait for so long just for one DC movie. One of the biggest issues with the DC movies was that there were so many different DC projects going on, and it was completely unclear what was DC canon, and what was just a movie about DC characters. Who in their right mind thought it would be helpful to the DCEU to green light Batman and Joker movies that are NOT DCEU movies? At this point, just do a remaster of the original Christopher Reeves Superman, I'll go the theater to watch that over another suicide squad movie.

John i disagree a little bit about the box office. Honestly, what I feel is keeping people from going to the movies is precisely the fact that WB doesn't listen to its audience. How long have people been asking for a Superman movie? We are in a management in which we have productions with the Peacemaker, Birds Of Prey, Shazam, Black Adam, Atom Smasher, Cyclone and we don't even have a Batman movie in 10 years of the universe, so my impression is that people are tired of spend money on random generic movies, the box office is a reflection of that and that alone, not on the universe itself or of the actors. One day they got tired of waiting for WB to do something decent and then the public decided to ignore it while having generic movies of random B characters. Unfortunately they will use that same excuse for the possible failure of the 2023 films but again they will reap what they sowed, Gunn's announcements discouraged everyone to see the next films. So i don't it's about the universe itself or the actors, to me it's about WB not doing the freaking basics before go to random generic movies, 10 freaking years and no superman sequel and Batman FIRST solo movie, i love Peacemaker but you have to agree, in 10 years they did nothing with theese characters, they have a great justice league movie but WB prefers the crazy version that 98% of people didn' like. 🤦‍♂️

The biggest tactical blunder was Batman v Superman. Enough people were on board with Man of Steel to probably support a direct sequel, but BvS was an absolute dumpster fire to many people including myself. I intensely disliked the last 20min of MoS, but I liked enough of it for DC not to lose me. BvS lost me completely and from that point forward I approached every DCU film with enough skepticism to not ever want to take a chance on a theater ticket. Zack Snyder's Justice League was awesome, but after all this time of terrible mismanagement I knew it was his swan song. I'm ready for something completely new and fully on board with letting the snyderverse die.

I was watching Black Adam yesterday in HBO MAX it was a very entertaining movie. And then i went to see the titles available and you can put Man of steel B v S ultimate edition WW Snyder Cut Aquaman Shazam The suicide Squad / Peacemaker Black Adam And you have a pretty strong series of movies. We only need to take out Suicide Squad 2016, Justice League ( 2017 ) , WW 84 and Birds of prey. The canon is decent MOS is linked to BVS and Snyder Cut. WW is in BVS and Snyder Cut Aquaman is in BVS , Snyder Cut and his solo movie. Shazam don't have any cameo or connection with other movies but is acknowledging the other heroes with merchandising. The suicide squad if we take out the first movie works well but didn't have any character of the previous movies ( once again taking out the first movie ) they only mentioned Superman but they didn't show an actor. Black Adam have many references of other heroes and we had the wizard of the first Shazam , amadan waller of TSQ and Superman from Man of steel. With that canon everything works.

You know they could have just done what the comics did. Keep the cast, but change the continuity. People aren’t dumb and with time will understand that these aren’t the same versions of the characters. There’s a different continuity but look the same just like in the comics. That’s what could make dc movies different from marvel in that they actually reboot like the comics. The character designs were the same, but certain events didn’t happen and some of their backstories were tweaked. However they are still in core the character of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman etc. However I still believe in James. I love Henry, Ben, Jason, Gal, Margot etc. and their portrayals of their characters, but if they won’t use them I’ll see how this all will pan out. Even if it sucks at least we still have Robert Pattinson’s Batman and we can still rewatch the OG Casts movies. There’s been some amazing movies in this universe like Man of Steel, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Wonder Woman, Shazam, the Suicide Squad and Aquaman. The DCEU had a great cast, but sadly some bad movies in between. I’m gonna miss the cast because none of the blame is on them. They gave it their all and they got royally fucked over by the old regime, but still did the best job they could and I will always remember how good they were as these characters.

I like to love all of what Zack Snyder did. I think Man Of Steel to Zack Snyder’s Justice League are the best trio of DC movies since Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy. That said, I am in the minority on that, I appreciate James Gunn’s Marvel work, and I am fascinated to see what he’ll do with DC movies.
