Bill Mack was WBAP. Thank you for remembering him. I had lunch with a few oldtime truckers last week and they remember him.

To me, WBAP will always be Mark Holtz and Eric Nadel broadcasting Texas Rangers games in the late-1980s and early-1990s. Its signal came in clear at night in Chicago back then when whatever local station that occupied the 820 spot on the AM dial went off the air at sunset.

That Chicago station, WAIT, was required to sign off at sunset in Grapevine, TX, where the WBAP 820 (shared with WFAA until 1970) transmitter was long located but later displaced by the building of DFW Airport.

Love it. I remember listening to WBAP in 1993. My dad passed that year in August & he loved Conway.
