I remember, as a teenager, listening to Bill Mack on a little radio, while laying in my bed in Noble, La. My favorite song was/is Drinking Champagne

This is great. I am Tommy I am who created his group on facebook and also I am his historian. Bill was a mentor to myself. I have association to his family. Thank you for doing this interview of my mentor. See I grew up around country music since I was 5 years old. I've seen so many legends and stars in country music and also met good few of them too, I have few photos of those but mostly memories.

I first met Bill at the 2008 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, KY. That meeting lead my to start his start out as his fan club group on Facebook and he gave Me his blessings for doing it.

Tommy, i spent my weekends working at a small radio station in Mississippi. During my tenure, I spent Sunday morning spinning Country Crossroads. It was the 1 bright spot of every Sunday morning. After Bill passed away, a friend and former coworker of mine from the Air Force posted her Uncle Bill Mack had passed. My throat was instantly filled with a huge lump. I sent a message to her and she confirmed that he was the Bill Mack. My heart sank. He was a true legend. I am going to look up for FB group, so look for my request.

I used listen to Bill when I was patrolling the Texas Panhandle as a Highway Patrolman. I loved his show.

He was indeed a GREAT influence as I grew up with a Truck Driving Daddy who listened to Bill Mack all night on the radio while he slept. I'd wake in the middle of the night often to hear Bill Mack. It was a huge blessing when, in adulthood, I was fortunate enough to meet Bill and Cindy and see Bill presented with an Award as a living legend from the Academy of Western Artists not too many years ago. I loved this man and his family.

Christmas Eve 1978, AFRN in Germany played a rebroadcast with Gene Autry. I tried to call his show a couple of times in the 80's to tell him I had heard him that far away.

I miss this man. Since he and Bozo are gone from radio it's not the same. If anyone can let Cindy know we miss her too. I still put peaches in my hamburgers.
