So many companies advertising this year. I wish there had been more bands. I thought that guy announcing was almost screaming. Then when he said no throwing candy, really the kids love that and look forward to that I am sure their parents would not let them eat it if they were allergic. Bring back the old Christmas parades we use to have. I have been in Christmas Parades before when I was young on a float and then when I was in the band marching. Since each community in Knoxville and in the county have their own parades, the big Knoxville parade is more advertisers now.

My group is a part of this parade every year and the parade officials tell us over & over (by email, by paper, by forms) not to throw candy from a moving vehicle. You can hand it to people, just not throw it. In the past, children (and their parents) have ran out into the street to fight for candy- in front of moving vehicles. Some of these trucks don't have a great view directly in front of the grill. It's a safety issue. If one person jumped out to get candy and got hurt, they would probably sue the city. All the smaller town parades here do throw candy out from vehicles.
