Since Groove Me is the only familiar song that I can remember from King Floyd, I'd have to say that "Groove Me" is my favorite song by King Floyd.

As a kid, I remember that half screen on the TV when you saw the top half of the body on the bottom and the bottom half of the body on the top. That brought back memories…..

There was never a competition with King Floyd and James Brown if anything King Floyd was giving James respect with that song Groove me by impersonating James Brown with respect only. But Joe Tex was another story...James Brown and Joe Tex really hated each other...

Groove Me is my choice. I've always wanted to sing this song for karaoke on a cruise. I practiced many times until my husband suggested I tape myself to hear what I sounded like. Luckily, I did. I would have butched that man's song very badly. I still play and sing along with that song very often, though.

@johncaldwell88118 күн бұрын
No way he could compete with James Brown, James had him beat by a few years, he was already established when Floyd struggled to make it to the top. Everything Floyd got, he got it from James Brown. No disrespect to Floyd, but that needed to be said

Joe Tex was the only one who could push James Brown. He could dance his ass off and could sing ballads clean live. I still take James but Tex was not a guy who James wanted to perform before or after him!
