Outstanding, thanks for the narration so that we all can understand! Very nice job of building the receiver. Randy

That's one of the nicest sounding regen sets I've heard, I love the finish of the double sided copper-clad PCB too. I find when I build a regen rx in a pique of innui, I end up using it more than the commercially made gear. They're great fun and solid performers for the simplicity.

Sounds amazing and I've always wanted to leave a thank you comment... as many of the "improvements" I discovered for my Sputnik Regen Receiver were inspired from watching this video in the past. About the broadcast AM stations... Radio Vatican its killing me in the evening hahaha. 73 and Thank you for the video. I have this one on my to build list of regens... soon to come.

I really like your videos. I especially like they way you mount your electronics. You certainly have an artistic eye and I completely agree- I think a lot of the electronics are actually quite neat to look at rather than be hidden (exactly why I love steam locomotives- all the machinery is shown). If you look at some of my early videos I have made some electronic gadgets where the components are meant to be displayed. I only wish I had your level of electronic knowledge. Thanks for the vids and keep them coming!

Sweet CW. Smoothest/ clearest (almost FM-quality) SW reception I've ever been able to get from tube regen receivers I've built. This might be the kit for me.

That's a very nice looking receiver mate. It would be a joy to build and use.

Very nice receiver. One of the better home brew receivers I have seen. Very nice layout and found the way you made the case is very interesting. Looks fantastic and works well. Well done and keep up the great work there. 73 John VK3TVZ

I am fascinated with the 40 meter band the fact that you can talk to the world on a few mW of power. I'm going to build a 40m CW SSB transceiver real soon, I'm not too crazy about the other HF bands just yet. 7MHz is the most active I find.

Quality parts =better results. I would buy a kit, set it aside, then order part that's expensive. And less drift. Kit building is good. After a lightning strike the only thing that survived. Was the enhanced kits. Good show tks om

No slow motion drive Howard - the 10-turn pot works pretty well on it's own. Others have had problems with that short link from the center-tap to the ground plane. Not sure if that's your problem, but some have replaced that 1-inch piece of stiff wire with a 1uH inductor and found that it gave an increase in sensitivity. Yes, that's my voice. @NT7S Thanks Jason. The audio quality during the video portion is below par as I was using an old cheap compact, and I didn't record any decent SSB due to band conditions. I didn't want to wait any longer, as it was just time to get this thing out and behind me so I can take a break!

It's a 10-turn pot Derek, made by Bourns - part number 3590S-2-103L The MeSQUARES and MePADS are available from QRPMe. I am not allowed to put links in this comment, so if you Google MeSQUARES and MePADS, you will find them.

Very nice surface mounting of radio elements. Tell me how do you make the installation points for the patching and what do they glue on the main board?
@AA7EE12 жыл бұрын
I didn't make them protelboy - I bought them ready-made from QRPMe in Maine. I cannot put links in this comment, but if you Google MeSQUARES and MePADS, you'll find them. A MePAD is used for the LM386 chip and MeSQUARES for all the other connections.

Very clean job! Curious about how you made the pads. They seem to have a neat rim around the edges. Are the etched in or glued on?
@andrewferg87375 жыл бұрын
OK. Just saw the post on MeSQUARES and MePADS. Thinking about trying them. Would they stay glued on during repeated soldering while I'm experimenting or are they more for the final product...?
