What memories, I can still remember that theme music too! It was appointment tv to watch the 6 p.m. news every night. Back then all of the Boston stations had an hour of news at 6 followed by the network news at 7, it stayed that way until 1987 when then WNEV now WHDH (Channel 7) began airing the live feed of the CBS Evening News at 6:30, WBZ and WCVB would later follow suit years later. As a footnote, also at this time in 1978, WBZ had Boston's earliest evening at 5:30 called First 4 News anchored by Shelby Scott and Gail Harris. 5 p.m. news was really unheard of since most people didn't finish work until 5 p.m. Great clip!
