Medicine for the soul to be sure….the “pop” of the fire, the rhythmic sounds the blade makes, and the “pearls” that randomly drop are just what the doctor ordered. Thank you, William….she’s a little dandy that one🎯

YAHOO!! My field lore is coming in from Great Northern Knives this week. "I am absolutely discussed that you killed a very young tree to prove your point and you are burning wood too"! That is my imitation of a tree extremist!!! Just a bad joke with a warped sense of humor... Happy Sunday morning everyone and God Bless!!!

Nice trystick William 👍. I just made one recently. Whether the economy is global or not, without purchasing power the consumer is an unimportant alien✌️🍀

I totally agree, we all need to make more things with our own two hands. Also, a pizza box (or half of one) is good for catchin wood shavings. 😉👍🏻

Very nice response to Scabs challenge! Most of us have a lot of knives. Those knives are not much good without at least a basic skill set. I think we need more tags like this one. I appreciate your videos and have been watching ever since you used the home made forge for heat treating your knives. You have come a long way!

My favorite pass time is to sit on my deck and do try sticks, with my woodsman narrow, and nessy . It’s therapeutic to me.

I'm actually listing to you why I do a try-stick. Now my mind isn't blank I'm thinking about not cutting off something I might need and sticking to only removing wood No Flesh 😁

Yaupon is a native plant Ilex vomitoria. Contains caffeine-you can harvest the young leaves. Even sold commercially. Formerly used in high concentrations by Southeast Indians in their Black Death drink Distribution: Southern Virginia, south to Florida and west to southeast Oklahoma and central Texas.

There was a lot of nice tips and wisdom in this video William. I connected with so much of what you said. I think taking time to be outdoors, slow down and breath the fresh air are highly under-rated. To craft something out of what would be scraps and feel the satisfaction and a little pride in what you made are all very beneficial things. Most importantly, just being in the Father's creation and simply enjoying the beauty in nature that He has gifted us with is therapeutic. Enjoying a nice strong cup of coffee and a warm fire is most welcome and an added bonus! I too really enjoy that PF French Press BTW. It is definitely a good piece of kit. Thank you for all you share with the community and for making such amazing knives as always. I enjoy mine (one or the other) almost daily. Take care my friend!

CC DARK ROAST?!😎 My MAN! Dats how ya did dat right dere! . My grandfather whittled just about anything with a simple OLD Scharade or CASE Carbon steel large Stockman. He also dug up dandelion and plantain with dang near 2 foot roots and pulled them with it. He was an electrician by trade. We spent months of time over the years breaking garden green beans,,shucking fresh corn, cracking black walnuts with a hammer, a small.iron, and picks for his homemade black walnut pound cakes. Then we would whittle out the hulls and make decorations and figures. I have the scars to prove I was sometimes more interested in hurrying up and getting it done, instead of paying attention. Trust me, bout the first time you say I won't need my knife , or you are convinced you don't need a field made tool. Guess what? You'll find yourself WISHING you had. Are there better knives now? Yes, yours included for sure. And this video proves it ain't always the knife but the woods man using it!😆

People only speed up through the videos when you have knives for sale so they can make the actual sale day hard or, it’s not fair😂
@wcknives5 ай бұрын
Not sure how that helps. The video is uploaded at least 24 hours prior to the sale going live.

Them old boys what used to carve walking sticks with wooden balls inside little wooden cages in the stick?? That's when you know you're good😂
@wcknives5 ай бұрын
Yep, I have attempted a few of those, not the walking stick but the ball in a cage. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3LOgpyYeapmm5osi=3hoqpmL_PW4nleDf
