Why does everyone pretend that coming from Austria was like coming from Mongolia something or Eastern Europe, complete remote and isolated places back then. Austria was a very advanced country, they had access to everything.

I don’t think that’s it at all. He came here as an adult barely speaking English, and look at all he’s accomplished overcame a thick accent , c😊me to a new country and was amazingly successful

As a comedian from CANADA, I can tell you that even being ONE country away from the USA is a huge disadvantage. Sure, it’s not as hard as coming from a third world country, but Austria is still a hurdle.

@@AlexBiron well, that's my point

@@cutalin I guess every time I hear about his story the focus has been on getting over the accent and breaking into Hollywood. I haven’t heard people make it into a “Mongolia” type thing. There are different kinds of challenges in terms of “making it” in USA. Coming from a first world country is not always easier in every way because of VISAS (although that may have been less the case back then.) But yes I agree it’s a good idea to remind people that Austria was a country where Arnold could already have success in bodybuilding, which was a huge bridge in terms of getting to America

Also Arnold, I’ve been pumping iron since the mid 70s and was totally inspired by your movie, and your career. Big thanks. I was in the armoured core at one time up here in Canada and I love the fact you own your own tank, but when I was in tanks as well as my son being in the armoured car in Afghanistan they are for a totally different reason. 10 minutes of a 1 hour and 10 minute interview from a Cigar publication is asking cigar related questions? That is less than 10 percent. I am confident that Cigar Aficionados would have appreciated more than 10 percent of this interview about cigars. The same thing happened during the Michael Jordan interview.

I never take advice from champions. Champions say what you want to hear. They have been known to lie to throw off their competition. I prefer disgraced champions like Mcafee, Mike Tyson,Lee Priest. The real question is, are you a driven person who doesn't take no for an answer and has found success as a result of your never giving up? If the answer is no, they perhaps you should break that golden rule of yours and actually watch the video, as it may teach you something useful. Consider well at the beginning of this video Arnold says that while the magazine he read about body building was like a road map to success with that, he also admitted that he was driven to do the 5 hours of weight training per day to make himself into the very success he wanted to be. Call that "advice" if you will, but it's really about you motivating yourself. And I guess because I am NOT a so-called "Champion" you can heed my advice, which may bode well for you in the end. Find your passion and go forward with all your might!
@cruciferousvegetableАй бұрын

I love that, when he was Governor of California, he had a cigar tent erected on the capitol grounds! Rather than stuffy board rooms with fluorescent lights, he held many meetings and negotiating sessions in the _tent,_ which included a full-size conference table, surrounded with comfortable chairs. As a moderate Republican governor with a Democratic state Congress, his administration was surprisingly productive, in large part because he created a _communal and cooperative space,_ rather than an _adversarial_ environment. 13:01 and 1:09:45 - I LOVE IT!!! Imagine how the world would look if more people...if not governments...adopted this philosophy. P.S. The Cuban embargo became obsolete with the fall of the USSR, it's strongest political and economic ally; not to mention, as long as the USA was the only nation participating in the embargo, it was largely pointless anyway. Having said that, now that Fidel and Raul are both dead, the USA has an opportunity to exert _positive_ economic influence on our neighbor. When Soviet citizen tasted Pepsi, tried on Levis, and heard Billy Joel, they got a taste for what _we_ have...and it eventually ended Soviet Communism. By reopening economic relations, we can similarly influence public sentiment among the Cuban people...and their leaders...in favor of democracy (hopefully with better results than the USSR).
