She has different styles every year with high difficulty: 2008- magical; 2009- elegant; 2010- grand; 2011- jazzy. I think she is versatile and can perform different kinds of music. Davai Zhenya =)

I think she is still true to her style; a lot of handling with her legs and body, incredible connections between Risks and body difficulties. She handles her mistakes very professionally and still manages to stay with the music. There is nothing in the rules that you have to be fast, BTW, as long as you change dynamics. She (& her team) know the rules very well and are doing gymnastics by the book right now. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I think the argument of "slow" and "boring" appeared because this routine does not connect with the audience as much as it should. In fact, its not the routine per ce, as I have seen the variation of this routine before with the same music, and it worked before, people loved it. Maybe emotionally Kanaeva wasn't there that day or maybe its a bright yellow dress that does not work at all for a lyrical and a bit sad music... It is just not working all together as it should

@kulteparis Kondakova was much better.... there´s no words to explain this score... 2 or 3 times all we can see little erroros with the hoop, and 9.900!!!!! OVER OVER OVERSCORED!!!....

Mehh I don't know.. she's such a wonderful gymnast, but this routine doesn't suite her. Everything seems a little bit heavy, or too slow. I just don't find this routine very interesting.

Can you tell me how on earth Kanaeva placed ahead of Kondakova in the hoop qualifications? It's unbelievable! Kanaeva is taking out a lot of difficulties from her routines, but she still scores the same, how is this possible? I love her but lets face it, watching her and already knowing that no matter what she will get first place is becoming kind of boring...

@Browniie91 I never disliked it, but the 20 people know that she's not the most graceful one, they're the one's who know the gymnasts more graceful than Kanaeva but those gymnasts are underrated

The exercise is very difficult and she is very artistic but she can do it better and a 9.6 is too in execution.

@bibcheto I agree with you. It's all about the COP.. And, you can't ask Kanaeva do "fast" exercise with this kind of music, if she does faster, some people will complain that she doesn't follow the tempo and she should have low artistry point. I think her coach, choreographer must have read through the book to tailor the new choreography for her. For me, she can do different style of hoop according to different music, that why I like her.

@thiagosimoes84 Artistic gymnastics lost its artistry years ago. The change in the COP saw to that. Thank goodness, with the change happening again in the COP that says that floor routines can only contain 4 tumbling lines, not 5 or more, there is more scope for good choreography. We see too much acrobatics and brute strength in artistic gym these days, not enough dance and grace:(

In terms of the energy she's bringing to this performance, she seems less confident than usual. She can definitely do better. If she performs like this in the final, Dasha should get the gold. Also...that leo...it's really distracting! =S (and seriously, why is anyone at all getting 29s?)

I apologize for saying this, but this was the most boring hoop routine i have ever seen. She is so clean and so perfect, so graceful and cute that it ends up being just so boring to watch. The music is boring too. No emotion, no surprises, you know Evgenia's going to do it perfectly to the end. A perfect doll in a music box.

Alexandra .Martins Sad to say this indeed. It should more be a compliment rather than a criticism to say that someone is so perfect, she gets boring. But I almost feel like this is getting a bit far. I mean, she isn’t perfect, so you criticize her on that, and when she is, you criticize her for being this? I mean, come on. She can’t do it right, can she? It may be personal opinion whether you think this routine is boring or not, but I’m pretty sure her outstanding physical abilities and qualities are not.

Sorry to dissapoint you, we are not blind, we just know what is good execution. Yes Kanaeva is graceful but this routine just didn't deserve the score it's get. This is my least favorite routine of Kanaeva's career

With Iriba Virne around.. Kanaeva should be always overscore.. For me Dmitrieva is the next Olimpic Games Champion.. Fat always better a Kondacova and Kanaeva.. Very clean and clear..
