Hello. I am new to WC3, having only played the campaign. Got some noob questions. 1) Without a burrow and towers, peons are just sitting ducks. Why didn't Starbuck build them at his secondary base in game 1? 2) If a kodo beast eats an enemy unit, does the unit's life regen work to prolong the unit's life? 3) If an undead player hires a non-undead tavern hero such as panda or naga sea witch, does an enemy paladin's holy light damage the hero? Does blight heal the hero faster? 4) Why did Hawk never try to build another base near a second gold mine in the last game? Even if his army was enough to fight Starbuck, it's useless if he lets his only base to be destroyed

Welcome to the game 1) Orcs try to be efficient. Once they reach their final army and have all their buildings they don't need too much wood enemy more and they first use their wood peons to saturate the expansion gold mine. In the end the expo was harassed too much and human heroes + better army and resources where all in favour for hawk. And while hawk had such a good army he could enter the peon line in the expo over and over. Starbuck couldn't break it without being even more behind so it was gg. 2) No Kodo beast devours the units only and is not benefiting from it. But I like the idea. On the other hand if a unit is in the belly of the kodo the enemy has vision of that kodo. So in case the orc TPs out of the fight back to his base with a unit still devouring by the kodo the oponent has vision on the orc. If the orc wants to be active after that he most likely keeps the kodo then in his base while creeping with the rest of his army until the unit is devoured. 3) The undead Death Knight (DK) can heal only UD heroes and units from his race which counts as well for the neutral heroes Dark Ranger and Pitlord ca ne healed by DK. Same goes the other way round. Paladin can heal non undead heroes and units and harms undead units. So DK can't heal the Panda or Naga with the DK - only with statues actively. And Paladin can't purify the Naga for damage. 4) As you have seen in the very end raiders are much more efficient in destroying buildings + with the pillage upgrade the orc gets extra resources back when attacked with a raider (or a grunt/peon). The human rifle army is much stronger in a direct fight. But on the other hand has very slow movement. Raiders are very fast + the endurance aura of TC. The Pala rifle tactic is a very slow build if the human would try to expand the orc would just harass the human base and the human couldn't afford so many towers as he did as defense. Which means the orc would just outmanouver the human. Harass the human base - without defense human would have to go back. Or the orc could as well split up his army heroes and headhunters and harassing raiders on the other spot. The goal of the human is to prevent the orc expansion in first place. Starbuck outplayed Hawk already in the early game which gave him and advantage. Hawk came back with a great creep jack. But still Starbuck was always 1 step ahead. As mentioned the human base was not perfectly build and the orc could intrude too early and did damage to towers. The human needs to block the town hall with lumbermill (cheap + high hp) and farms and towers a little deeper that they can't be attacked that easily. However these are all pro tactics if not executed perfectly especially as orc you are lost. Paladin and rifles are easy to play, because ranged with high dps and high armour (with Paladin aura) healing of Paladin, mana drain of the enemy heroes by bloodmage and give it to Paladin.

Rifles are very good at direct fights, especially with paladin, blood mage but they move very slowly. Piercing and magic dmg deal only 35% damage to fortified armor so very bad at killing buildings. Most ranged units deal with those dmg types. Note that human arcane,guard towers, unupgraded orc towers, and burrows have heavy armor so take 100% dmg from piercing and 200% dmg from"magic"attacks. Raiders are bad at fights and deal siege damage that does only 50% to medium armor aka most ranged units but does 150% damage to fortified armor and pillage gives 50% of building cost back.(afaik affected by upkeep). So raiders are usually not good at combat and move very fast and TC aura makes them faster.

Vs raiders and level 2 shockwave, 6 towers is nothing. And clearly they got obliterated as predicted. Learn to play. Carson is a great caster.

Low skilled players? SB is a top 10 player and the highest ranked random player who actually plays every race well. SB is definitely not a low skilled player.
