Why don't we force every magazine to also print in braille? The amount of documentation a freelance web designer needs to sift through to cover his ass while selling web design to mom & pop shops is ridiculous while at the same time we are trying to learn how to code everything and keep up with the constant changes happening in web design. No other industry has this amount of change to keep up with, but now we face giant settlement fees if we don't also keep up with this sprawling Accessibility Compliance documentation? How about the geniuses behind this come up with a simple 2-page actionable outline of what really needs to be done since that appears to be what it all boils down to, anyway (based on what I've been able to gather from other experts who publish web dev articles about WCAG 2.0 compliance, but I really have no idea what to believe at this point since all the analytic tools like Wave and SiteImprove Accessibility fire off tons of warnings but not all of them are actionable)? It seems to me this new legislation is just a way to sift out the little guy and keep the web monopolized by big players who have lawyers on staff to get out of compliance lawsuits (like Facebook) or who can afford to pay the settlements fees (like Target). The rest of us have to become experts at this crap or pay through the nose for someone to do it for us.
