We should mention that, after 20 years at KARE (1983-2003), Paul Magers left Channel 11 for WCCO's sister station in Los Angeles, which is KCBS (Both WCCO and KCBS are owned by CBS).

This would have been from 1986. The WUSA name was used for the 1985-86 season before the switch to KARE 11.

WCCO Stop using this logo in crica 2000 although it did change in 1988 form blue to red

The viewers KAREd; the station when they were WTCN and under Metromedia had been *DEAD LAST* in the ratings until Gannett/Tegna took over and turned things around, burying previous #1 KSTP to third place (and sometimes fourth behind KMSP).

Gotta love the old WCCO "hot tub" set. I never cared for KARE.

They should have used concave lenses. The crosshatch pattern behind them bends outward with a "barrel effect". Now add in a convex tv set on top of a convex distortion in the recording to show that off with, and that's how the joke of "television makes you 10 pounds heavier" came from. I wish fat screen TVs and LCD came around by the 70s.. no geometric distortions, and those light guns used by Nintendo and others would have been designed for LCD in mind.
