WCML Diverts - Stoke-on-Trent + Alsager. 2nd May 2015

A video here that is a little different from other's, but sticks to the main themes for this channel. For this one, I gained word that the West Coast Main Line stretch between Crewe and Stafford would be shut on the Saturday/Sunday for engineering work. This meant that all of the traffic would be diverting along my local line through Alsager, Kidsgrove and Stoke-On-Trent.
Normally through Stoke-On-Trent and Alsager, freight is sparce with us having three in the whole week (China Clay, Sinfin Tanks and departmental engineering). However with these diversion's, we saw all of the Saturday freight through this line which normally is an unseen thing, so I had to make the most of it.
First of all, we are at Stoke for station. What is included is 37667 on test to Derby, 950 001 on test to Derby, 87002 on 1M16, 66429/424 on Daventry to Mossend Tesco's. Next, we head to Alsager Station to see some rarities in the form of Virgin Pendolino's. Normally, I wouldn't film these, but due to the rarity of them on this line, I made an exception. We also see 66097 on Crewe Bas Hall S.S.M. to Hillmorton Jn, 66121 on the Halewood (Jaguar Cars) to Southampton Eastern Docks cars and 90036/26 on the Mossend Euroterminal to Daventry Int Rft Recep Rfd intermodal.

Grande Monsieur! As youngsters in Ireland, we always loved it when the trains passed by at a leisurely rate, as it provided us a great chance to bounce a few ripe tomatoes off some of the pork-pie-faced blokes who stuck their mugs out the window/door openings. Mon Dieu, what fun. ESPECIALLY if they were holding a pint a' bitters that they then dropped! Ho-Ho-Ho!...as Monsieur Santa would say.

Zombie Villager I never film them anyway as a rule, this was a one off due to the unusual appearance of them on the line that passes through Alsager.
