We all KNOW why the previous show runner left this show from what was in S10 especially the ending, then what was in S11 & now with S12. The previous show runner did not want to sacrifice his professional INTEGRITY for money and I salute 🫡 & respect him for it. If ep 1 of S12 is anything to go by, if it's the beginning of the end of this show, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised. In fact, the signs were already there from S11. 🤷‍♀️

Sorry I missed the live chat! Watching it now... 4:05 I'm pretty sure that Mike Rohl's last name is pronounced like "roll" or "role." That's based on similarly-spelled names with which I'm familiar. Also, I had heard previously that the first episode was written by Lindsay Sturman, but then I saw Beth Stewart's name pop up, so either I heard wrong, or someone else had bad info. 😊

But as soon as we watched it, and I saw "Written by Elizabeth Stewart" on the screen, I knew I had previously been either misinformed, or that I had misinterpreted something. :)

In fact, I venture to say that Lucas ALREADY looks better than N since he came on in S6 until today so in order for the powers-that-be to 'justify' (in their minds) E dropping Lucas like a hot potato for N is by making Lucas become & look like the VILLAIN while making N out to be the 'hero'. Ugghh!! 🤮🤮

Perhaps they are setting up Lucas to prove them all wrong. He is committed to the community. Just wait for the park to be named after Lucas after somebody writes into the Valley Voice.

15:25 To Lillian's point, not only would Jack have not worn the medal while on a training mission, he most likely would not have even brought it with him at all, since the mission was supposed to only be two months and then he would have returned home to Hope Valley. HOWEVER, there are a few possible reasons for him to have brought it along. One reason might be that he was supposed to attend some formal event while he was there, requiring him to have the medal. Perhaps even some sort of ceremony honoring him. Another possible reason would have been for him to show the cadets and say, "if you do good work, you might get one of these."

9:30 I think the only CHARACTER who perhaps thought it was Nathan's fault that Jack died was Nathan himself. I don't remember hearing any other character say, or even imply, that.

@@BryceNewall only Hardgraves - I am referring to viewers.but what is interesting is how they wrote it. They never had the characters blame Nathan, even though he was very much associated with what happened to Jack. And I am in total agreement with it. However, why do they blame Lucas for Jeanette? He didn’t invite her to Hope Valley nor did he try to keep her there. He tried several times to make her leave. So the logical writing applies to some characters, but not to others. Which is kind of frustrating for many viewers.

This season has started with a bang. So far they are not drawing out the story like they used to and everyone has been playing their part well. They are all great actors. Even the children were great. And I am not quite sure why some people keep saying Nathan and Elizabeth are boring just because she is not with Lucas. Lucas will have a great comback. We all have to understand that no one is perfect, there will be good and not so good days so the actors parts are not always going to be what we expect of them. It is not only show business it is also real life. Back in those days life was kind of “boring” 🤔🤔🤦‍♀️🤦‍♂️

I have to disagree with your opinion but we can agree to disagree without being disagreeable because we are mature, sensible, educated, sane, civilised adults. They decided to turn Lucas into the villian of the show . That's the bottom line. They don't what TL thinks because we accept the change by still watching week after week. I wish I didn't invest 12 years in this show.

I enjoyed the first 9 seasons even with the major changes of loosing Jack, Abigail and bringing in Lucas and Nathan. It was a natural transition losing and gaining new characters. The real finale was S10 E12. New show S11 and beyond.

I find it really sad how they wrote Rosemary's reaction to Lee leaving town. They wrote it like Rosemary couldn't handle life with ou him for awhile. It was like they forgot that she was a self-sufficient independent woman I did like to see the conversation between Rosemary and Nathan. The two of them are important to Elizabeth so it is nice to see them get along well.

It was weird how they wrote Rosemary, Lee and Lucas. I guess it was their way of building the conflict between Lucas and Lee, as Chris and Kavan did say that they are going to have some kind of disagreement about something. How do you feel about Edwin possibly coming back to work with Lucas? While I don’t care much for the character, I do like the actor. I don’t mind seeing him again, but I thought Lucas was glad that he left in the last season.
