We loved this growing up in the 70s. It was hilarious when Mario Milano would have a few words in Italian for the Australian Italian community. Same with Spiros Orion for the Greek community. Jack Little, Ted Whitten commentators. Great on Saturday and Sundays at midday.

These were the good old days back then, the whole family went on Sundays to church, came home to a roast, then watched the Wrestling on TV and then off to the footy. Love and miss those days.
@beldengi4 жыл бұрын
That is exactly what happened in hour home. Dad insisted on chatting at church so we kids raced home from Heathmont along the railway track to Bayswater in order to see as much of the show as possible. Then came the Sunday roast which had been cooking in the Sunbeam cooker while we all were at church.

One of the greatest villains to come into a territory, work his way though all the jobbers, then destroy the mid carders. Then he would take on the champion of the territory and after several matches leave and return a year or two later. This was a much better and believable way of managing a wrestling territory.

Only Milano was a major star in Australia. For some reason owner jim barnett allowed brower to no sell at a level he was never allowed to do in the u.s . In Australia whenever killer karl kox got someone in rhe brain buster that was it , easy pin and the guy needed 2 guys to help him out of the ring . When kox got brower in the brain buster he no sold it almost as bad as hogan no Selling vaders power bomb ,and got up and beat the crap out of kox . Yet the announcers ,trying to build up kox ,would always say there was an " upcoming meeting of the nwa board " to vote on " banning the brain buster " because it was so deadly! Yet they let brower no sell it and beat up kox after he gets up from it . In my opinon ,brower made king curtis ,mark lewin , arion , and kox all look weak . You dont make your heroes look weak . Milano was the hero of all Italian Australians and yet hes made to look like a jobber in this match

Ahh! Lord Athol Layton in the opening. He was quite the wrestler himself. Although he went light on his accent here, he became the voice of wrestling in Detroit with Chuck Allen, and Terry Sullivan. He was the one that made it "manditory" to have at least one "British nobleman" at the announce table.

We saw Detroit wrestling on TV here in New England briefly in the '70s. "Hello" and "What have we here" were his signature reactions to outrageous action in the ring.

I'd of loved to see that muscled body of the ref's, beat-up Milano, just enjoying himself, and hopefully dry-humping his bulging manhood off on Milano's head in a pair of trunks while using the top of it as a punching bag, holding him under the chin with one hand from behind, and allowing his "muscle bulge" to ride up and down the back of Milano's head with each punch to it...until it "satisfied" him in his "muscle-bulging" trunks!!!
