I actually knew about the ropes changing colors only because when I was younger I'd always reset the match to get a specific song to play during the match. Immediately I noticed that the ropes changed colors as a result, so then I started restarting matches to get the black ropes every time, lmao.

I used to rent this game as a young kid...the worst part of all...i loved wrestling so much that I rented it MULTIPLE times just because it had a WCW logo on it. The rants are the only part of this game worth existing.

I liked Thunder, played pretty good, good roster and arguably the best commentary in any wrestling game, comparing a 1999 brilliant commentary track to 20 years later Corey Graves saying "Things don't look for he Million Dollar Man" 10 times in a row then burying the wrestlers in the post-match commentary...no one EVER does that

That would have been great! It’s funny you mention that because when I was young I was always mad that the hidden wrestlers didn’t have rants as that was one of my favorite parts of the game. Maybe they’ll make Tony a hidden character in the AEW game.

Wwe games have had modes retelling the past but they have never had wcw or ecw parts to go with the wwe /wwf stuff. Like imagine in WWE 13 Attitude Era mode but instead of just being focused in the WWF you could also play it parts and WCW and ECW to show the Monday night Wars more thoroughly than just the WWE / WWF perspective . Wwe story modes can only tell so many old wwe/wwf stories but they have never truly shaked things up like that by adding WCW and ECW to it to spice things up.

I’ve been wanting that since Attitude era appeared in WWE 13. I would actually just love a new WCW game that covered the roster, arenas, matches/storylines from the entire history of the promotion. I know WWE will never do that, but that would be amazing!

Not gonna lie, I kind of miss the fact that the rope color gets generated, kind of like WcW in its dying days where they had inconstient rope colors like Blue in Nitro = Red in Thunder, its like if RAW used blue ropes. Also I'm guessing Nitro is not in this game, which is weird is like the equivant of a Smackdown game not having a RAW arena

I personally think that the bash at the beach arena, the slamboree arena, the Halloween havoc arena, and the uncensored arena are four of the best arenas in the game. It was pretty accurate and spot on as far as stage design and some aspects it would have been even cooler if in the game we could walk up and down the ramp instead of being stopped by a invisible wall.

I think that’s the curse of some older channels. I follow this fitness channel and the guy has so much knowledge and great videos but only has 30k subs after almost 10 years. I think they promote newer channels more than old. Also I don’t monetize my videos and I don’t think KZbin likes that.

I was looking at the Nitro PS1 versions of these PPV arena (at least the rings) and they range from meh, to bizzare like, what's with the green ring mat and orange aprons for Halloween Havoc. Why is there a nWo speific arena despite also having nWo Souled Out? What logo version did Slamboree used, can't be 1997, might be the 1993-1996 generic design. Also why did Slamboree reuse Nitro assets for the stage, as if everything else use the nitro set. My guess at least for the PS1, the cutoff date for Nitro was 1996-1997, which if you compare WcW from last to next year, its very jarring.

But I'll tell ya something WCW had some of the best play by play guys as well which is why I hold WCW close to my heart because if it wasn't for WCW I would never ever become a Wrestling fan. Plus with WCW they rarely ever started a show with a promo or what not. That's what I like about AEW and NWA Power is that they care about the wrestling more than the constant promos. Just wish WWE would cut back on promos and just get to the action. In case you haven't noticed you are like one of my favorite youtubers that actually replies back. Also a side note, I have watches all your wrestling video game reviews about 5 times total lol

Oh god what a piece of shit this game was. Clunky controls, goofy commentary, and the exact same FMV 6 or 7 second intro before every match. I bought it on clearance at Blockbuster for 7 bucks at the time and thought it was such a downgrade from WCW/NWO Revenge. The wrestling highlight screen where they shoot you a promo was pretty innovative though. I'll give it that.

I can’t stand this game or it’s predecessor. I got this game at a thrift store for .99 cents and wasn’t even worth that. If I wanna play wcw games I’ll stick to N64. This game is ugly as hell and gameplay sucks. Look at the so called “shadows” underneath the wrestlers. Blue squares 😂
