When is this man going in the hall of fame? I know Lex had problems, but damn The Total Package is a legend. ps Before anyone brings up Liz, that was horrible and unfortunate, and Lex has to deal with the memory of that night, but he did not force drugs on Liz...she was an adult.

The most misunderstood guy in wrestling. I've always thought that. Did his best with what he had. Plus he came in in an awkward way...as he was thrust to the top from pretty much the minute he started. Lots of guys had it out for him.

That actually makes perfect sense what he said about being paired with Harley. I can't believe that never crossed my mind about Flair leaving with the legendary belt. I've never seen a real Lex shoot interview but hIs demeanor really surprises me about how much flak he has taken from the boys. He seems really rational, caring, introspective and just cool, for the "big cocky meat head jock" portrayal that people have given him. I could listen to him shoot for hours.

Winni started watching flair in 97 and could not figure out why people loved him so much. But when wwe released the FLAIR dvds and i saw his classic 80s stuff with steamboat and windam and funk i gained new levels of respect for the guy. I think 80s flair could work circles around alot of top guys today....

Lex, has not said anything bad about anyone, and this was before he became A CHRISTIAN, Lex is one of the all time Greats, one of my Childhood Hero’s, in The NWA/WCW in the 80s, early 90s, before WWE, and before He made his return to WCW on the first ever Nitro. Lex was the best from 86, to 91. Was great as the Narcissist, Great, but not Yankee Doddle

Same here, I was so happy when he finally won the world title in 91. About a year before that he had a great feud with stan Hansen where they traded US title wins. Hansen said in a shoot interview that he was their best talent in the early 90s and thought they made a big mistake when they let him go to WWF. His world title win against hogan in 97 is still probably the loudest pop I ever heard in WCW. Him not being in the HOF yet is a total joke.

I think ppl shit on Lex because he had the right mentality about the business. It was just that for him, business. He didnt care about politics in the back or being everybody’s friend,he wanted the most money to do the least work...thats actually smart. If your looks will sale a ppv and they can milk it marketing wise...why purposely get hurt just for the sake of getting hurt. I have my questions & suspicions about Elizabeth’s death but as a talent I think ppl are way too hard on Lex for not being a 10 wrestler because he was booked that way based on his looks. Take it up with Herd,Rhodes,McMahon or Bischoff...they all continued hiring him despite his lack of in ring ability.

People can crap on Luger all they want but they can't deny the fact he was over in WCW. The only two more over were obviously Ric and Sting. But he's not lying when he says whether he played a face or heel, he got some of the best crowd reactions. If you need a huge pop during a match, just set up Luger in a hot tag. It gets them every time.

It seemed to me that he was extremely popular for the most part until about 99-2000 then his star faded. But he made a lot of money in wrestling (something a lot of people can't claim) had one of the best bodies in wrestling (probably THE best at 1 point) and was a major star on the national level for over a decade. One of the few guys to even beat Hogan clean as well (post Hulkamania)
