Do many of you guys use the My Cloud drive or software? How do you like it?

Been using my 4TB 2nd gen since 2017; expanded it last year with a 14TB WD Elements drive. It's generally good and has decent network transfer. Just be sure to turn auto backup off on the app for any connected device to allow the thing to sleep when not in use.

How didi u connect it to the mac ?It’s not clear at all. You had a white cable which disappeared and then it showed two small black ones

These are terrible drives, fail often and cannot get the data except paying for recovery. You didn't give enough details on accessing the data.

This promotional video is only for people who have no idea what a secure backup medium is and for people who have no reliable internet. So, what happens if your hard disc gets broken or infected by ransomware? Answer: All data is lost or encrypted by ransomware. That's why we have cloud storage nowadays. Once your backup is encrypted by ransomware, you will realize what nonsense this video guy is talking. By then, it's too late to recover your data unless you have a reliable cloud backup.

I have mine since 2017…they’re easy and simple to use…unfortunately WD has committed many mistakes with new OS5 and they decapried many capabilities.

I did not update mine & everything is linked up, blue light- blinking internet lights, yet no access...
