I upgraded the steering on the pathfinder with the 2wd hardbody center link
This swap requires 2WD hardbody center link, inner tie rods, and adjusters.
F150 4X4 Front LEFT outer tie rods (two of these) Mevotech Terrain Tough
the F150 outer tie rods needed about an inch cut off the threads to work with the adjusters.
the 93+ pathfinder pittman arm joint taper is larger than the 2wd. 1991 pathfinder pitman arms apparently fix this. I shimmed mine for off-road use (don't do this).
so far so good.

I like whats happening here, don't feel like buying and shipping to grassroots gonna take too long. Can you give some more info on year of HB for the parts/ part numbers if you can recall?

This center link is from a 1994 2wd hardbody. You also need the 2wd idler arm, inner tie rod ends and adjusters. I used f150 outer tie rod ends. The pitarm taper is too big for the center link unfortunately, I shimmed this one, which is a bandaid until I can find a small taper pitman arm. www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/33061-2wd-steering-setup-installed-w-pictures-using-oem-steering-damper/ This thread has more information on the pitmam arm issue. F150 outer tie rod ends keep you from having the stock adjusters machined.

cool mod. So if you have the pre 93 Pathfinder you don't need to mod/swap the idler arm or pitman arm with this setup, correct? How is it holding up?

Hey man I like what yo I did here, I’m currently experiencing a problem where they keep selling me the wrong center link and the tie rods goo too far in which leaves them with no articulation and the bend and break off. I can’t even drive my truck because I can’t locate anything that works. Could you provide me the year of the hardbody d21 and also if 4cyl or v6 Much appreciated man

Any modifications made to where the tierod bolts to the hub assembly? I just bought 2000 4x4 f150 tie rods and the taper is too big
@jcatzcustoms

I didn't modify the hubs assembly at all. These just went in. I'm not sure if the taper was exactly the same, but it was close. This pathfinder is a 1995.

@@jcatzcustoms did the swap ever work for yours ? I’m trying to do mine but Im reading people’s feedbacks and trying to learn the tricks. Much appreciated

@@panoramama It did "work" as far as not killing center links and tie rods go. The steering geometry is less optimal so there's some bump steer over big humps and dips. Good for off road though. I might try the center link with bushings if I had to do it again, but I plan to Dana 44 swap once this wears out.

The poly bushings don't work well for this UCA, rubber all the way.
