HI. Thank you for your nice feedback. As for the WD40 uage as engine oil, well its more of a testing subject really. There are a few videos here on youtube that have been made by people tesing to see if a car engine can run on this type of oil. Probably for entertainment purposes more then anything else. When I saw some of these vids I thought I could explain why it fails in engines. Not the most ingenues of explanations or the most entertaining but I thought I would make it anyway. Thanks, Craig

Absolutely superbly executed video 🙂 Well thought out and explained 🙂 In the RC world I've even seen some trying to use WD40 or GT85 as a pre-mix 2stroke for petrol engines, safe to say I've rebuilt all those ruined engine's when they've come in for repair 😉 One guy cut open a can of WD40 to use as he forgot to take his normal 2 stroke oil out with him 😖 After having a basically new engine built up, (all that got reused was the lower crank casings, coil, and outer covers)the same guy (despite advice, and told the correct air filter oils to use) carried on spraying his foam air-filter with WD40! 😵😖 Which obviously washed out the "correct" air-filter oil I had coated his foam filter in when his engine was rebuilt, and as he kept soaking the filter in WD40 it also proceeded to get sucked in through carb, mess up his fuel mixture, and cause him to "lean seize" that engine too! He initially came back and accused me of shoddy build quality, Until we went through his daily prep routine, which brought everything to light 🥴😔 I'm not a fan of WD40 at any time, there are much better products on the market for the jobs it 'supposed' to be used for (not keen on it's smell either) But WD40 is cheap, well known, and well marketed, so there will always be cases like this and other's out there 😉 Keep up the great work, All the best, Mark 👍🏻 (Sorry for the long comment🥰)

You can use anything slippery or greasy for oil for about 5 mins, then its bye bye to engine in varying degrees. WD40 makeup is totally diff to a oil, fantastic product BUT Oils have lubricating and cleaners , depressants and other things made for a hot metal engine and to carry away heat and carbon ect. On a older worn engine, you use a thicker oil to take up the clearances and to keep a bit more oil from blow by and leakage. On newer engines where the clearances are to tiny at the top valve area, you must use the thinner oils as recommended or you will have starvation up there and destroy the cam adjusters and all that novel crap they put on engines these day adding to more maintenance and issues.

Also, if you put some wd40 in a glass, in a week it has evaporated ~ completely, which won't happen with motor oil. And will evaporate even faster when hot.
