WD-40 can prevent rust from happening. It makes rust removal easier if it is surface rust. If the part is corroded deeply, you need to treat it with a different method.

No, do not do that. As I said WD40 prevents rust, it doesnt remove rust. Its more of lubricant. And definitely spraying WD40 inside exhaust pipe is not a good idea.

Yes, it is rust. Yes spray some WD40 on it, it will get rid of some of the rust and relubricate the chain. It will take some time though.

Even if you put it on the disc plate and remove rust just make sure to rinse it again with brake cleaner. You will have no issue whatsoever. The point is brake cleaner usually don't do much for rust but this does however brake cleaner can easily clean it's residue. You can use one from Liqui Moly!

Simplest solution rub the hell out that disk with sand paper, JK. Use a soft sand (with high number) paper a rub it lightly, try not to rub to much off.
