I've seen the WDR Big Band in youtube in countless musical events, it is definitely my favorite Big Band. But I've been following Joan Chamorro for some years too. He's played an important role in musical education of many young musicians (Andrea Motis, Eva Fernandez, Rita Payes & Magali Datzira just to name a few, adding these fantastic young musicians on the stage). And dispite being an amazing musician himself, Joan is so funny when he's conducting, looks like he's living every second with an outstanding enthusiasm, there's never a dull moment... Anyone who has been following Joan Chamorro and his young musicians for a while knows that "Recado Boss Nova" is one of the standards of the San Andreu Jazz Band and has already been interpreted on KZbin with different casts. Great comment Hans. I've been enjoying SAJB for 5-6 years now and it's been a lot of fun and heartwarming to see the old vids going back to 2010 or more I think. When Joan puts them up I call them "family videos". As to WDR, consummate professionals, clear, strong, smooth playing. Great solos and precise in the movements. Easy on the ears for me at least, and a class act in their presentation.

Even if they all don't know me, for my part I would be delighted to meet these family members sometime. One that comes to mind right off the bat is….MYJO. This multi award winning band won the BBC band competition an incredible 11 times. Played with people like bob Florence, rob mcconnell, Arturo Sandoval, Gordon Goodwin and Bobby shew to mention just a few. Recorded numerous cds but unlike saint andrau they don’t really have a strong online presence
